Mod map won't work

So I download some mod maps, copy and paste them from downloads to mods folder, load fs17 and the maps aren't available to choose, as in, they aren't there. What am I doing wrong?

Like the CANTABRIA map. I'm looking for a map that has plenty of factory productions in it. Was on Mavericks map for a while but it keeps crashing when trying to load. Stuck on the "game loading please wait screen" Happened to me twice now.

the first version i find of that Cantabria map is a .rar file
You need to make sure its a .zip file or it wont work

Tried the 1 off fs17 main site and comes up with Giants engine software program error when it's loading..

working perfectly.
no need to unzip or change anything, just put the zip in the mod folder and it sould work.

what could be the reason for not working or crashing:
mod conflict, some other mod in your mod folder conflicts with the map.
map conflict: some maps dont like it when other mod maps are in the same folder, try to start a new map with no other mod maps in the mod folder.
drivers out of date: it been said many times but this could be a reason for "giant engine stopped working" error's
I know what you are gonna say, your system is up to dat. Just keep in mind that this could be the cause of crashing.

Just download the map i posted above and try to get it running.
Looks like a fun map with tons to do, i didnt know this one but i like it.

Downloaded it. Got same giants engine ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ message again. Created a new mod folder. Copied it over. Deleted it from original mod folder and still won't work.

move everyting from your mod folder to another folder and only have this map in your mod folder.
start a new game.
if it doenst work that way i am afraid you need to update your videodriver.
I have no problem running this map so its not the mod that is causing your problem

Had it working until I turned it off now it's doing the same error message again.

Will the mods still work in the game if I move them to another folder?

no, mods that are outside the standard mod folder wont work .
There is a tool to have more then one mod folder but i dont recomment it in this case.
so yes, only mods in the mod folder will be in the game.

I do not understand why you have to put links to pirated pages, when the mods are in the official ModHub, you do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ favor to the modders.

Depends, if you start the game with mods -back to windows and move mods -back to game..it works. at least until something will get reloaded. Mods are cached when loading.

1 - you may create a new empty folder, you can set in gamesettings.xml ( Notepad++ preferred )
<modsDirectoryOverride active="true" directory="D:/MODS-LS17"/>

2 - get the mod from official ressource, like Cantabria Infinite v1.9 http://farming-simulator.com/mod.php?lang=en&country=us&mod_id=91034&title=fs2017 latest I found

3- start with map only, in case of errors, check FS17 log.txt ...

Less experienced people are not knowing this! Search on google for Mod_XY..tada.. this kind of pages pops up. I also got there in the beginning... and got 2 times some extras - a SCRIPT-WARNING / MALWARE in the zip included.. for free. thanks Antivirus / Mozilla for protecting
