If you want to make money quickly, I would buy a chainsaw and do logging with the pickup truck. Once you have enough money, I would make silage for a better long-term payoff.

Yes, I agree logging and silage are the way to go. I recommend maybe getting a timber runner so you can haul the recommend 8m log length for best price. Also outfit one of the Case 1455 with a front end loader and get the Fork with Grapple (NOT the Log Fork) also maybe wide tires. Try to do logging in the flatter areas in the NE part of the Gold. map, only pick the tall pine and fir trees. Learn to use CoursePlay, get a mower (Pot. 301 ED) and setup courses to mow the shoulders and spaces between fields. Follow that with the Pot. 330 forage wagon over the same course. CoursePlay can run the mower then the wagon while you do the logging operations.

Take out more money on your loan, buy a round baler, a bale picker trailer, a mower, and a bale wrapper. Get the yellow and red mower and attach it to the front of the new Holland and pull the baler behind it. Seed one field into grass and also cut and bale the grass around your farm. Use the bale wrapper on the bales to turn them into silage bales. Each bale will sell for 2600 $ on normal mode. Great way to get rich quick in the beginning and help you unlock more funds for farm equipment in the future.

Good luck!

you can start cows without a feed mixer. they go 70%+ efficiency with straw, grass & silage. milk pays off high.

sheep don't pay off so fast, but they are really easy to go.

anyhow, a mower always is a good investment, since you can use grass for cows and sheep and silage.
you can use the front mover and the small forage wagon in the back to mow the small area between the fields. no need to use courseplay.

a small tedder is not expensive either, to go for hay.

also, always take the time to pick up your straw! it does not seem to sell much, but it's around 25% you'll get for straw in your barn of what you get for the wheat from the same field same harvest at a green priced sellpoint.

on day one of your game sell all the grain in your farms silos. That should be enough for a mover. But after the mower you have to figure out how to pick up the grass and transport it to your sheep. Then you have to have the equipment to take the wool to the selling shop. That is where i lost alot of money. So...maybe just do a few large fields first :)

I cut down the trees in the main field and make it into one huge field. Put the 22 foot header on the case combine to save money. Grow soybeans and canola.

If you have the largest one, you're already at ~45 feet.

1. Sell everything you have, except maybe one tractor and a chainsaw to have fun;
2. Sell everything that's already in your silos;
3. Borrow as much money as you can;
4. In options, put time scale to 120x;
5. Buy as many solar panels as you can;
6. Wait;
7. Repeat from step 5 until you have 8-10 solar panels;
8. Pile up cash, buy a wind energy converter;
9. Wait;
10. Repeat from step 8 until you have 6-10 wind energy converters.

*Optionally: Pay back loan when cash gets in to save on interests, then increase it when there's enough available to buy your next piece.

lol, that is not playing.

you can also open "careerSavegame.xml" in the savegame, find the <money> tag and enter any amount you want.

there are many "free money" mods aswell, if you are okay with cheating
Greasy Squirt Jan 7, 2018 @ 11:38pm
honesty, i think the silage bales are the best option in the beginning. its not expensive to start and its really fast money. way faster than solar panels. you will have new equipment and land to farm in no time.

It IS playing. I beat the game with it's own design, without cheating. I didn't cheat by changing the savegame file or using mods. ;)
