Picking up logs
I am getting really close to never playing FS17 again; and I just purchased the game.

Does anyone have any good ideas about picking up logs that have been cut down? I have spent over $300k in game money and countless hours of my game time just trying to pick up logs, and I'm very, very tired of this.

From a methods perspective, I have found moving the logs to a building wall, and picking them up from there to be the quickest way to lift them. I've even used two tractors to stop them from scooting around, just so I can pick up the g** d*** log; and I'm tired of this. There HAS to be a simplier way, or better equipment to use that can capture the logs, because what I've seen so far has not lifted my skirt.

There is a mod for a trailer that automatically loads them. Which vehicle are you using to pick up the logs? I find that the telehandler really suck and the front loader attachment for a tractor works well, you just have to tilt it so you are picking them up from above.

If you're THAT annoyed and ready to throw in the towel... Here's the log trailer with the auto load script.

It may look like it's for 2015, but trust me, it works in 17 and I live by it <3

Yep, just like the vid shows, and like anything you can even get quicker with practice. I see some people that whip things around like professionals.

There will also be grabber mods, some of which will be significantly improved vanilla items, and others of completely new design. Finding a few of those that work for you can make a major difference. Both in efficiency, and in fun factor.

There is a dual fork grabber that works really well for me, and comes with versions for front loader, telehandler and, wheel loader. It even has straps that can be secured for long distance travel. If I can find the link to it, I will post it here. Meanwhile @95Bravo is right. Practice, practice, practice! Keep your chin up bro!

Everybody initially uses the log claws wrong.

The small claw must be used like a crane, pointing them downwards.

The big log claw only works with multiple logs at a time or one very, very wide log. Align the logs before picking them up so they don't fall left and right.
