Bales??
So just woundering where do you guys stack your bales of straw and hay, i am playing on the american map and have a lot of bales and plenty more to come so i need a good place to stack them. I have been stacking them along side the silage bunker at the cow farm but am running out of room so any ideas would be great. Also i was woundering if i collected straw or hay with a forage wagon then dumped the pile somewhere if i could use a baler to roll bales from the pile, is that possible? Any tips would B great thanks! :FS17bale:

I'm always confused why people bale.... Why not just pick up straw and grass with the loading wagon and store in a silo. I baled once for a bit, it's neat to do once, but so inefficiant.

I have asked this a few times since '15. I guess they like baleing. I've done it also but as a mostley singleplayer I get to busy. Much quicker to use a loading wagon.

In the Placeables tab of the store is a Hay/Straw Barn for sale and placement. It stores unbaled hay.

I always make bales for my animals as it replecates real life BUT having bale stacks larger than 1 fields worth is just a waste as the animals dont need a winter stock pile like they do in real life because there are no in game seasons to worry about running short

The hay/straw placeable barn is awesome. Forage the hat/straw unload and then any supporting trailer will do when you want it taken out. Speeds up the process of feeding/moving hay/straw to where it's needed no end

Not sure, since I have never done it. But couldnt you just pull up to the hay loft with the mixer and fill it directly from the barn?

Fill what? the baler or a Forage wagon? :FS17seed:

If you have so many bales you are running out of space for them, you have too many. I understand making enough to refill the mixing wagon and spread on the ground a few times, but beyond that, it's just money setting around not doing you any good.

Turn the excess grass into silage and sell it. Sale the excess straw.

If you do use the placeable hayloft, you can unload into tippers, no need for forage wagons for that. You can use belts to load the mixing wagon unless you really want to bale. If bales are preferred, just start driving and empty the tipper.

I play on a friends dedicated server so it's not my call with the bales, on another hand all the bales we got are from 2 fields and we didnt think we would have this many bales. we started stacking them all around the farm/map and it ackually looks pretty nice, until they get knocked over;)

Is this different than the red barn next to the silo? I was mowing and picking up the grass and when full I dumped in the barn and the grass was sold.

The barn by silos is a selling point only. The placeable hayloft in the store is for storage.
