Can you mow from the front and tow a tedder behind?

Basically I'm trying to cut out a step. If I mow from the front can you just instantly turn that over to dried grass with a tedder on the back?

Yes. You can combine the Novacat 301 and X8 on the front for a very wide mow path and pull a windrower or tedder behind. I think you can do it with the Lely units as well.

While this works it will unbalance all but the largest tractors.

The larger mow deck has PTO...it can run the windrower.
Put small deck on front of tractor, large mow deck on back of tractor, and windrower tot he large mowdeck.

Lely mower units do NOT combine into a single unit. I had to sell mine and buy the other brand.

Nope, I ran that same set up with a New Holland T6. The one in the picture is a Case Optum CVX, not the smallest mind you, but certainly not among the largest.

I've even seen a setup with a mower in front, a modified windrower in back, and a square bailer attached to that. From grass to bails in one pass. XD

I think the windrower might have been on Modhoster.com, but I'm not 100% positive. It was just something I read in a YouTube description, and I didn't think to write it down unfortunately.

How did you hook the mowers together i have been trying for awhile now but cant get them to hook up i thought it would be Q but im guessing its something else?

It is Q. Pottinger is the only brand that connects.

You can hook the tractor to both sides of the Novacat X8, but the 301 will only hook to one side. So if it doesn't work, flip it around.

I run my mowers with a windrow in the back. Then I only need the smallest tedder to may hay.
