Can i activate the fs17 code on steam?

i have bought a cd/dvd version of the game but i got a new pc without a cd/dvd so i cant play the game i have tried to activate the game on steam using the code wich followed the game but it did not work. can you help me?

no you cant but you can add the game to your steam lib as a "non steam game"
but the cd code will not activate on steam

lol so why buy a cd/dvd if your pc dont have a dvd player
buy a cheap dvd player and install it to your system

wow, i have not brought a dvd game since almost steam first released, i broke my dvd player on my pc around then and still didnt repace it even though i replaced my whole pc :P

The only i have in front of my pc is my fan controller and waterpump,thanks to steam...

you dont need a 5 and a half inch bay for a dvd player if you just open the case side and plug it in temporarily to just install the game

thats how i would do it if i was in your situation, any old dvd drive would work and a spare cable to connect it (sata or ide) and power (molex or sata)

just remove it when your done.

well my old pc had a dvd

now the question is that if your new pc has the connectors for that old drive, if it does then use it to install the game then unplug it and use one of the "ways" that are availiable to get it to run with out the dvd.

you dont need steam... the whole point is that you install the game from the dvd and you then play it as normal.

the code will not work on steam unless giants have setup steam to accept the code and they probably have not or people could sell the physical copy and just use the steam copy.

as far as i know they always kept their sales and steam sales seperate.

unless of course you have lost your code and cannot install the game from DVD, in which case you are a bit screwed
