seasons mod boring up the game?
i cant be the only one who thinks this, and ESPECIALLY when u start a new game, but i think even at the shortest interval of 3 days between seasons, its very very boring. should be a way to shorten the intervals to 1 or 2 days, at least when beginning a new map.to start with 20k and only 2 or 3 fields owned, nearly impossible to get to year 2 without running out of money. i personally think that soilmod would be a HUGE benifit to 17 now more then ever. at least then you have something to do each day as the seasons progress toward harvest times. also, fast growing crops like radish or brocoli would be a gread add, as they are cold weather crops, and gives you something to harvest in between the main harvests. what do u all think? BRING BACK SOIL MOD!!!

it certainly slows the game down. i used to play 1x and make farmer brown work non stop night and day, now for days on end i run 120x and skip nights and only run 1x when there is stuff to do.

seasons looks nice but it is still not particularly realistic.

honestly i think you should at least be able to make it 1 day intervals, 4 days for a whole season. 3 days min would be fine with soilmod, or being able to grow crops that go from plant to harvest in 3 days.

The seasons mod does not get boring for me but I would like to see something along the lines of soil mod for FS17

Seasons + SoilMod + Bale Extension + BGA Extension + Finance Office = The way it's ment to be played.

ok, iv seen bale and bga extention before, but thanks to the CRAP translations makeing no sense, i have no idea what either of those do. so what do they do?

I would too, but from the looks of it, soilmod isnt going to happen anytime soon, this was posted a couple days ago by the guy who scripts/puts together soilmod... apparently he is going through some difficult times on a personal level.

"Due to personal/family/friends/work related issues (i.e. 'real life/the world outside/time'), I haven't had any motivation the past months to delve myself into SoilMod script-coding."

don't spend money and you won't need loans.

bga extension turns it into a power plant.
you add fuel (silage and/or other crops) twice a day and don't get paid for the silage but receive income for the power it produces.

I like aspects of the seasons mod, such as planning what crops you plant according to the season and temperature.

The real problem, which I notice even without seasons, is there's nothing to really do to spend your time when you're waiting on your fields. You can do part-time work at other farms, but even that gets a bit tedious. In the end, I end up staring at my chickens while on 160x speed.

I love this game, (this being my first Farming Simulator game), but I really wish there were some additional time-wasting elements in the game outside of farming.

Maybe the ability to go to your farm house door and sleep to pass time? Maybe the ability to fish or hunt? Don't know. I wish there was a way to beautifully marry aspects of this game with games like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon. xD (dodges thrown objects from angry purist farming-sim fans)

As for money...I usually always locate all 100 gold nuggets, then spend the cash on some new machines to start. (cause I HATE the really narrow sowers and cultivators)

I don't really like it. If your animals need like corn. And it's not time to plant/harvest corn, then your animals can die.

well one has to stock up to last the year out.

I can understand. I'm wondering how I'll manage to stock hay bails appropriately when I decided to start caring for animals. But that is one nice thing I do like about the seasons mod, the need to plan ahead.

I don't understand this post Seasons is a optional mod if you don't like it don't use it. With the down time I do forestry, grass > bales > silage, missions for money. Not sure what your looking for here.

Also depends what map your using as some of the modded maps you start with some good sized fields and equipment
