Im opposite, I get bored real quick watching anything farm simulated... but I can play for hours and still want to play more, i find every part of the game fun including forestry...having seasons makes it even better and now i just wish they would release soilmod and this game would be the ultimate.
Maybe I get bored faster because I have this game on console, so there are very few mods ( almost no mod tractors, combines) so I have to use all the base game equipment which get stain really fast. Also we don't have some of the best mods like SEASONS ( omg I can't wait for it to come out on console) and some cool maps. But watching fs on YouTube, they play on pc and have access to all the cool things I don't get to see our do on console. I can't think of it off the top of my head, but there's a lot of pc extensions and cool add ons to the game that add a lot of content.

Me too, I have both ATS and ETS2. I like the logistics part of the farm, making certain all of the equipment is running well and loaded with supplies. I know people don't like the CAT lifter, but I like it a lot. I'm not sure what the optimum way of loading things in the game is (I suppose just let the bots do it), but I was happiest when I bought a flatbed so I could ferry the CAT back and forth on it, loading boxes and bags of seed and fertilizer to bring back to my farm.

LOL YES thats me too
I love to strart a map with a tons of mods with really old vehicles to the newest and start with the old and make my way to the newest and best! I like to strategically plan my vehicle and tool updates and plan where I will grow what on the map and plan how much do I need to the next update and then start to work on the fields I have to achieve that goal!

I prefer the haulage jobs, collecting the crop from the harvester on the move and getting it delivered to return before my worker can stop with a full tank. Hmph, I don't pay workers to sit around all day in air conditioned cabs.

I like logging. I grew up on a farm and logging and splitting firewood was the most fun thing I could do really, sad as it is :P

I am a bit disappointed with FS17 though, as logging seems far more efficient with a semi and a tractor rather than bother with the scorpion king and the loader, as the logs are shorter, less capacity and far less money each delivery (which is also slower).

yes i agree. i wish logging could be more viable with just regular machinery ( not the giant and very $$$ logging equipment lol).

Well for me I logged up over $1 000 000 easily with a tractor and a leased semi just using the chainsaw and it seemed like the best option until I remembered the wheel loaders. Although the log grab is amazingly oversized and lining up cuts with the Scorpion King is pretty difficult on uneven terrain, it goes so amazingly fast. I mean you can lease everything you need and in two trips with a full semi you'd be making a profit already. Still can't make 12+ meter logs to utilize the full length of the semi but if you get good at it you can cut 5m or 6m and stack them in two rows, like you would in real life (with a semi and a trailer mind you).

Unfortunately I accidentally flipped my semi at the train unloading area (I unload there because it has the crane so I don't have to bring one) and I realized that simply flipping the semi is far simpler than unloading it :P Kinda immersion breaking... Not that unloading it regularly takes more than a minute with the crane anyway, but kinda silly.

I recently started fertiziling with solid manure on Ballymoon Castle. It's pretty neat to do a few rows, go back to fill up the spreader, then do a few more rows... Very restful. On the default maps it was a royal pain, since the manure was so far from the fields, but on smaller maps with more concentrated farms, it's fun!
