Problem downloading FS17 from GIANTS Software website

Hey guys. I stuffed up and missed the Steam sale on FS17 the other day. I bought FS15 instead and liked it so much I went to buy FS17 but it's no longer on sale. Instead, I bought a key from GamesDeal and then went to download the game from the GIANTS Software website as instructed. The file starts to download, so I think the key is fine, but then seems to only get to 0.2 before appearing to be finished downloading. When I open the file it says "Couldn't Mount File -
the disc image file is corrupted".

Can anyone explain how to get around this so I can download the game? i have contacted their helpdesk but might take some time.

Does this file type mean I will have to use a iso program to play the game? (something I'm not really familiar with using)

Should I request a refund from PayPal, if that's possible, and then just buy it on Steam? I could get caught out with 2 copies if I buy Steam first and they won't refund me. I'm really excited to get farming so this is a risk.

Does Steam honour discounts that have expired? If not, I'm happy to pay full price, just curious if I could save a few bucks.

It's boring but I think you should have done your homework - a few internet searches should have revealed the reputation and any warning signs about GamesDeal.

I guess try to get your money back from PayPal.

Put FS17 in your Steam wishlist and wait for a sale probably Autumn/Winter but the publisher does occasionally have mid-week or weekend sales.

In the meantime, enjoy FS15, and with the mods available the time should just fly by.

No, it wasn't a Steam key. It was just a code in an email.

Easy to say in retrospect but nothing about the website seemed dodgy so I didn't have any major concerns. Funny cos I never buy of any other site than Steam or used to be OzGameShop but the one time I jump the gun and go against my better judgement I get stung :(

I just put in a PayPal claim and see that you can only refund maximum of $9.99AUD on digital transactions. Wouldn't suprise me if this is part of the scam. They still get around $15.00 even if they do refund the 10.

I do enjoy FS15 but found most of the mods I saw are for FS17. Maybe I just need to look around more.

There should still be lots of mods for FS15 although they are probably buried on some sites after 10 months of FS17 mods.

It's disappointing that Giants have removed the FS15 link from their Mods page, but I discovered that you can still access the mods by editing the URL to add &title=fs2015

Giants never had a big selection for FS15, but a few of the maps over on FS-UK.com require a trailer pack that I think you can only get from the Giants modhub site.

I've contacted them regarding the issue and they are of no help at all. Suggested a few things, which I tried to no avail, and so then they just said, "sorry we can't help you". Doesn't really sound good from a customer perspective :(

Hmmmm buying the game from a skecthy website to save a couple of bucks and then expecting the developer to resolve your issue is just too funny. If you got ripped off from that website why should Giants give you the game for frtee , your issue is with the website you bought the game from not Giants . Bashing Giants for your own error due to greed is stupid. You screwed up not Giants. Go and take your issue up with the website and stop expecting Giants to bail you out.

Wow... talk about getting angry over nothing. Do you work for them or something? Mate, for all purposes the website I purchased it from is legit because the KEY WORKED. Even Giants tried and the key worked. The problem is the FILE is corrupted and will not install and have not been giving much option to get the game working.

I never once asked for a free game, where the hell did you manufacture that idea from? I bought a key for it, I've stated that already. If I wanted it free I would've just pirated it. In fact if you calm down long enough to re-read my original post I even said I was happy to pay full price for FS17 on Steam and actually just opened Steam to do just that, purchase FS17 at full price. So I will then have 1 x FS15 and 2 x FS17 (1 corrupted and 1 on Steam).

Error due to greed? Dude, that comment is just simply full of hate, you're just an angry person with zero logic. I missed the Steam sale by a day and just wanted to save a few bucks, what's wrong with that? How is that greedy to want to save 40%? Hardly have I "bashed" them. I just said they don't have good customer service.

have you tried to down load from giants portal again.
delete your old file and have another crack.

I'm confused. Steam is showing that you own the Steam version of the game.

Yeah I tried over a dozen times to download it from Giants.

I just purchased it on Steam.
