Field Placement
Hi
I'm working on building a map and I placed a couple fields, put the field map indicators in the middle of the field, placed the corners and the field buy icon. Problem is that when I go in game the field doesn't show up on the map, not even the field number shows up and I don't get the option to buy the field either. Everything else works on the field. I can plow, plant, harvest with no problem. Anyone have any ideas?

farmer yip on youtube, its old ones but they work a charm.. dont know how many theres out from fs17, but using fs13-15 ones will get you more than started..

thats how i got started, there are a few for fs17 but not many. experiment, ask in forums and whatever you do always make a copy of the origional map you are using for a base unless you want to reinstall your game

I'm trying to get fields deleted and make them normal meadows so I can use them to move my husbandries and a dirt road too... But even deleting the field doesn't let me paint grass there..

Okay.. what a good night's sleep can do... I managed to delete field 12 (goldcrest) now I have 2 more questions.. How do I 'sink' a house so it's gonna sit on the ground in stead of floating and how the heck do I move a husbandry..

Any fields you make have to be put in a transform group named fields just like in the default map scenegraph. The mistake i made is that the transform group named "fields" has to have the user attribute onCreate. To do this select the fields transform group, open the user attributes window and where it says add new attribute type onCreate exactly as it is there. Change the type to script callback and then click add. Once you have done that type in the box belonging to the attribute you just created "FieldDefinition.onCreate" exactly as it is there but without the quotes. BAM your map will now recognize your field locations, field numbers and who owns them. It should also be mentioned that if you want to own a field you will have to make an attribute just like before only this time for the individual field and type in ownedByPlayer and add that attribute. There will be a check box next to it, select it to own the field, or leave it unchecked to not own it.

Ok to sink a house you just have to select it and click and drag the green arrow down until it sits on the ground. You can also try changing the Y translate to 0 but depending on where you imported the file from that isnt always the case. As far as moving a husbandry you will have to delete the old navmesh and create a new one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLxiDmyvxz0
That youtube video will show you better than I can explain it on here. Hope that helps
