Its just the same with solid manure ,a field requires multiple trailer loads to cover it correctly so you need to have lots in storage to do it properly
And yes because its a bye product of animals its free so you can either use it on your fields or sell it for profit
IMHO, there is little reason to use slurry in terms of pure economic game balance. It's good and fun for roleplay purposes, though, and for feeling better about being environmentally friendly and closing the nutrient loop on your farm.
Slurry spreads whether it's over the field or off the field in a turn. The helper adjusts for this and will not waste the slurry. But if you have a 5 meter row at the end of the run, it will still spread slurry over 9 to 30 meters. With the Zunhammer tank and attaching the Zunhammer cultivator or the Amazone cultivator, the spread becomes 6 meters, and it will only spread over cultivated field.
