Something wrong with the one in the game? There are exteded silos in the game to expand your storage capacity and they work.

Google "fs17 extended silo" and you will get more results than you can handle. There are a couple on modland, net - fs-uk.com - modhub.com that add what they have stored to your financial fills menu. That's very handy.

I do also use the ones in game, since they usually work with even the mod maps. Even if the structure model for the silos looks different. As long as you get them withing 50 meters (in game) of the home silos. With proper placement, I can often get over a million litres in storage.

My idea with the placeble silo is the actually the size of the map. With the huge size of the map, some of the fields are to far from the silo you start with. So what I want is that you could place a silo where you could drop your crops and cut your traveling time.

You can use any of the non-sell point silo's on the map to store your own crops (plus beets, potatoes) as well. There are several sites on the train routes.

If you store crops in the train silos over night you will be charged a fee, you do not own those the town does.

I have never noticed a fee. What is it classified as (in Finances)? I wonder why Giants doesn't document any of this? If there is a fee it must be tiny: I store all my pig crops right by the pig area -- very handy.

I now believe Willow is correct. I did some experiments, and a fee is charged *hourly* (as Property Maintenance) at a rate of roughly $5 per 1000 L per day. So storing lots of grains/root crops in the train silos can add up: 100000 L cost $500 per day.

Thanks for pointing this out -- I might change how I deal with this.
