Reasonable Age?
I have a 6 year old daughter who is almost 7 years old. Is it reasonable to assume she can play this while I am with her and can give her a hand now and then? or is it flat out going to be me playing FOR her?

I don't want to buy it just for myself.

I'd wait another few years. I feel like she would find it boring after a few hours and barely play it again. But that's just my opinion.

It could be a way of teaching her how farms opperate while you play the game but its not really a game you could leave her playing alone for an hour or so at a time as she would find it hard to play and get board very quickly

While having a great imagination helps with the realism of the game it does require alot of effort and patience to advance the game forward which would require you to play the game for her

All that is said above is very true for most, but if she is very patient and willing to learn how to play, I think she would like it. The game itself is simple enough to understand, so the only point to consider would be if you think she would enjoy the slower and more monotonous gameplay for a while.

Thanks guys. After watching some Let's Play videos I thought she might struggle. I still might purchase for myself though. Looks enjoyable, casual and reviews are really good.

If you get it for yourself.....;), which was the whole idea any way....lol...you could always let her do some of the smaller field missions. That would give you an idea to see if she could handle the game. My kids started on a Texas Instruments rig 30 some years ago at ages 5, 7, and 9. All three ended up in computers one way or another. They are never to young to get exposed to the workings of a computer. Get her interested in map making. She has to do a better job than some of the maps out there...just joking. Wish I could make a map.
I played it with my nephew of the same age. It took a lot of hand-holding at first, but we managed to get some work done. I had him belting down seed and fertilizer pallets after I loaded them onto a flatbed. We even managed to get a mowing/foraging trip in, him mowing and me foraging. Things went off the rails a bit after I demonstrated the chainsaw on a tree, though.

There's a lot to learn up front, but one could probably teach a 6-year-old the basics over the course of a few sessions. And if she gets bored, ramp a pickup truck into the river.
