Competitive Multiplayer Farming

I was wondering if anybody wanted to join me in an experiment to see how a competitive farm would work.

We would play on a modded map that has three farms pretty seperated, and we would decide who the owners of those three are, probably me, and the next two people who are interested.

We will all start with the standart normal amount of money, 20 000 per farm owner. If you want to buy a piece of machinery, you would let me know, and you would sent the money for it, and I would deliver your machine to you. If you want to buy a field, send me the money, and I will go buy it for you. Any change we can't work out we can say is a delivery charge :)

I was really hoping I could get a group of people doing this, as I think competition is what this game needs. Maybe we will start a trend, who knows!

Edit: This is going to be put on hold unitl I can figure out my schedule and figure out how the server/map is going to work properly. It might come back into existance in May or June depending how I am doing. Im already playing on a Competitive, ecconomy driven server where you get to own your own company, yard and equipment. Where you get paid for each job you do (30% for doing the job, and the other 70% being split between any contractors who's equipment is used for the job).

I really love this setup, but it doesnt involve owning fields each, rather all fields are owned by the farmer, who also owns one of everything (basic small equipment though).

OP if you are interested in this, type Virtual Farming World into google. We have a strong core group, but we always need more! :D

EDIT: The gameplay is also of the type which is, if you dont want to do certain jobs, then you never need to do them! If you love ploughing, or sowing, just take those jobs. Maunure spreading and Frontloading jobs pay better because they are more skill based though.

No one is ever going to tell you which jobs you must do, or in which direction you 'need' to specialise in when chosing equipment to buy.

There is also a 4X map that is just over a weeks progress from being released for our community by two of our members.

Edit: I checked it out. The only issue I have is it REQUIRES team speak. If someone wants to play, but doesnt have a mic, there out of luck. I could care less if they have a mic. If they do, great. Become skype friends and do it there.

I play on VFW as well, you dont need a mic. We have some that just listen and respon on ingame chat. Check us out, think you will like it

I might be interested in this. I've never played on MP before but always thought something like this would be fun. I really like the idea of a few players on a map all owning their own stuff and running their own farms as best as the game allows.

With that said since I've never tried MP before could you please explain how the money works between the players because I'm a little confused by it. Thanks

You know you can use team speak without a mic. We had a few in my old guild that never had one. They just used the txt function.

I know teamspeak has a text function, but i think they require voice.

I am interested in competitive farming, but I would like to do it on an individual level. I realize cheating would be an issue, but I am sure there is a way to do it, perhaps on a Giants server. I have been composing a letter to them to suggest such a thing.

I'd be interested but only on a map that isn't a ♥♥♥♥ "giants" like map with 90degree angle fields, and just generally not a lousy map. :D

Have you found a map yet? even if your server is full could you post what map it is, with maybe a download link? I am thinking about starting a MP server of my own, so I'm interested in checking out MP maps.
