GTL still the only choice?

I am racing real life with touring car from the 70s. To increase my skills to setup the car, I'm looking for the best sim. Is GTL from 2005 the closest I get?

I have over 2000 cars, including skins, in GTL and it's still a great racing experience. Outside of Steam, there is PnG3, which is made for your era.and uses GTL cars on the GTR 2 platform.

How did you get 2000 cars? I have 125 max in game available by using a hack on game as too tough to win a lot for me. I only use SPlayer.

there was a crack at onetime for wider wheels on the lotus cortina and the mini, i did have them and the cars looked beef`d up, its a petrol heads racing sim.
