Just Dance 2017

Is it true that you don't need to dance, just wave your hand for this?
We used to play Just Dance and Dance Central on the Xbox 360 with Kinect. When I read about the series having newer installments, I thought that these games use the phone's camera to record your movement. But if my understanding is correct, the phone is only used as a motion detector - so you have to dance holding the phone in your hand? And basically don't need to move any other part of your body? If that's how it works, I'd rather dust off the old Xbox 360. Or I could try connecting the Kinect to my PC, but the game description does not say if it supports that. Does anyone know if it does?

Hey gbuglyo,

Console versions of the newer titles do still support some peripherals (Xbox One Kinect, PlayStation Camera / Move) as well as the Just Dance Controller App.

You are correct in that the app is used as a handheld controller rather than a tracker via the camera, but in my experiences playing newer titles on Stadia via the Controller App, it is very much able to distinguish that you aren't completing the whole move and your score is penalized if you only move your hand.

If there's anything more we can answer or help you with in regards to the newer games, please let us know!
