both systems run the game flawlessly. I have not experienced a single crash and no slowdown of any kind.
How did you get a dump if you don't own the game?
It's even working on GT 230 this way, instant crash on any fullscreen resolution anywhere far enough from the game menu though.
So, idk which step managed to stop the crashes that's why i'm going to put everything. (It seems that if i let the Intro run, it crashes after 25~30s BUT I CAN STILL PASS THE INTRO WITHOUT CRASHING.)
1) Verify the game integrity.
2) I removed my K-lite codec pack, i'm using VLC now.
3) Disable Steam Overlay.
4) Make the OnechanbaraZ2.exe run as Administrator.
5) Go to the main directory "S-AZ2" and then "Video" folder: Check if the files are written like
this, "d3_logo" and "Prologue" ; If not try renaming the files. (Without the " of course.) after that, Set them to "Read-Only".
6) Go to your Nvidia 3D configuration / AMD 3D configuration and make a profile for your Onechanbara.
6.1) Force a 60fps + Anti Aliasing + Pre-rendering (The amount of those options are up to you.) / Maximum Performance (For energy management) in other words: Override the game 3d settings.
7) As the game start try skipping the Intro movies AS FAST AS YOU CAN + try entering a map.
8) On the map you can tweak your Resolution / Fullscreen - Windowed on the Options menu buttom.
9) After that you can navigate through the menu without crashing.
I've managed to play the game normally, except for the intro because it still crashes if i let it run (it takes some time though), I'm still trying to find a solution, everything else is fine.
I've tested on my Radeon HD 7850 and on my Nvidia GTX 970, both are having the same problem, but i can play it.
I really hope that this works...
I always found VLC to be a bit unsightly and cumbersome. If you feel like it, try Potplayer. Looks good, works fine, it's customizable.
The weird thing is: After i REMOVED the two files "d3_logo" + "prologue" the game did not crash.
I'm still trying to figuring why those 2 files are crashing the game, I've uninstalled all my codecs to test again with the videos on the folder, but it crashed; I guess it's not codec related(?), oh the headaches...
Try deleting the 2 files "d3_logo" + "Prologue" from the video folder to see if it goes.
