Also is there a guide similiar to the one on the forums of choice of games for Sabers?

Which final battle? there are two, the secret mission and the big battle, i'm going to assume you mean the big battle, as there is no perfect ending in that one, someone will always die. The secret mission also has a lose/lose situation, but you're able to avoid it several ways

Yes I'm referring to the final battle. What I mean is there a way to keep the promotion? also how do you avoid the lose/lose situation?
Popeato Chips Mar 31, 2016 @ 8:03pm
you don't get to keep the promotion as it's only temporary, but if you have enough cash, you can purchase it. And in the secret mission, you have the option to stay with your men or go inside, if you stay with your men, a very high-value target will show up and you have the option to try and stop them, doing so will almost always lead to the deaths of a third of your men including Marion and your sergeant, as well as Renard hating your guts, but in exchange for your loss, you get a VERY large sum of money. Going inside will avoid this, but the target escapes, you can also just let the target escape and keep your men alive.

Ok then, thanks for the info.

How do you get the option for the secret mission?
Kahuna60 Apr 1, 2016 @ 6:49pm
from what I can see you have to romance the Intelligence officer. Her name escapes me at the moment.

and also in the final battle I got it to where only Marion and your senior NCO dies. All other major players survive.

How much charisma stat do you need? I tried with 44 and seemed like a dead end

From what I heard you just have to agree with her alot. I havent tried that route , and so i havent gotten it yet. The choice of Games forum for Guns of Infinity is a good source of info;

Katrina or something like that is the intelligence agent. I romanced her as a max Merciful and slightly Idealistic glory seeker, I didn't agree with her very often but I did give her my time whenever I could. Then when the secret mission came up i chose to do it "for her"

Which one is better in your opinion? The battle or the secret mission?

There is a way to do the final setpeice battle perfectly. You need very high int and to have succeeded in the previous mission to capture the cannons. If you do that you can send your subordinates off to help the breakthroughs, go and personally contain one side (you'll need good troop stats if you don't want people to die doing this) and send word to support the other with the guns. No one dies if you have good enough troop stats there.

There should always be at least one person who dies, whether it be Lewes, your Sergeant and Marion, or one of the others, It's impossible to keep both Lewes and your men alive in the experimental route if you help both the highlanders and Hartigan, and I'm not familiar enough with the 5th of foot route, but I assume it's the same. The troop stats neccesary to keep everyone alive in the experimental route requires a discipline of 95, which is absolutely impossible, there was even a discussion about this on the CoG fourm just a day or two ago, where the author himself said as much

Then why did the author keep such a check there anyways? Did he expect us to cheat? I know how to modify the exported save, but haven't figured out how to change the in-game save. I think even if you change the troop's date from Sabres to 100, they will be modified to 40 after being exported to Guns, which I assume is the max you can achieve at the beginning of the game.
Anyway, do you know who defaultly die in the great battle if the MC choose to do the secret mission?
