Trouble Keeping Engine From Overheating/Smoking
Greetings all. I seem to be having trouble keeping my engine from starting to smoke half way through my first route now. Not sure why. I even make sure I have optimal oil mixture before departing, but no matter what, halfway into the trip my engine block, carb, and filter seem to be down to 1/3 durability and smoking. Any thoughts?

The only upgrade I have on my car is the triple barrel green ignition coil, that wouldn't cause damage to my carb, engine block and air filter would it?

I think it's a scripted / tutorial event, as it seems to happen most (but not quite always) on the first leg of the journey.
That being said, I think the component(s) are only supposed to lose 1 durability, not drop to 1/3, so perhaps that's a bug? I've found that I can safely ignore it until my next fuel (or loot) stop and my parts (assuming I started the trip in perfect condition) are at 2/3 durability.

Okay, so it sounds like the seemingly rapid wear and tear is fairly common in any case, though mine seems like it could possibly be slightly more accelerated than normal. I'll keep playing with my jalopy and see if I can figure anything out :)

after a few incredibly frustrating uncle related bugs, i left him back in the garage and many of the bugs along with the seemingly scripted engine smoke event simply didn't happen. so try that out, and if your engine still wears down fast, try getting a better air filter or adding more oil to the fuel mix. but who am i to give advice to a guy who played almost 10 times my playtime :)

oh wait, the 54 hour playtime guy is someone else, ok so i hope my advice will be helpful lol

Strange, I've been leaving my uncle behind for awhile now and I still get the smoking/engine overheating roughly halfway into my first route. I recently upgraded to a 33 litre green fuel tank as well as a green engine block and green carburator and so far it seems to kind of be eliviating my problems a bit, but not by too much lol

I think green is good for fuel economy but there are parts specifically built for reliability. Try those, and make sure you have a good air filter.

it's impossible, this car makes the yugo seem like a luxury sedan, even it's best parts are made of 99% hope.
