There, And Back Again

So I'm having trouble finding clarification on the 'There, And Back Again' achievement. It states you need to go from Germany to Turkey, and back to Germany in a single session. I'm confused because I just did that and didn't get the achivement. I left for Turkey with Uncle in the car, got to Turkey, and managed to get back to Germany on my first game. When I got back to Germany Uncle was standing outside the garage and all I could do was go to sleep in the bed. I did so and nothing changed. I woke up and Uncle was still standing outside the garage, I can't interact with him to offer to take him on another ride, I didn't get the achivement, and it seems that all I can do is start another trip by myself. I was also under the impression that I could store things at the garage but I can't find a way to put things on the shelves and I don't trust just leaving them on the ground inside the garage as a storage method (i'm pretty sure the game doesn't save things that are just on the ground and not in an inventory slot).

I can only think of 2 reasons I wouldn't have gotten the achivement. 1. That by 'single session' it means without quitting the game and reloading it because it was like 4am when I got back to Dresden and I decided I needed to sleep for real. So I quit the game and reloaded it the next day to continue my drive back to Berlin. 2. There's a bug in the game that's preventing me from getting the achivement.

I did notice a bunch of bugs while I was playing, one of them was game breaking and forced me to start over. But I didn't think any of them would interfere with getting the achivement. The two worst bugs I came across were the game breaking one (while sliding in the rain the rear end of the car went through a guardrail and trapped the car on a cliff, I couldn't get the car off and had to restart the day) and when I loaded my game up the next day in Dresden a bunch of my stuff was gone from the car (a spare battery in the roof rack, 2 repair kits from the roof rack, the jack and crowbar from the trunk, 2 spare tires and 2 tire repair kits also in the trunk).

Has anyone else had issues with the achivement not being awarded?

I did a couple google searches trying to confirm that it was because I saved, quit, and came back later. Nothing I saw confirmed it one way or the other. If it's really a 'you have to do this in one sitting' achievement then the wording should be clarifited because 'single session' has multiple meanings to me. It could mean without returning home, or without restarting, or without loading a save.

I've already seen that post, it doesn't provide specifics about getting There, And Back Again. It only suggests some tactics for it, but doesn't state specifically that it needs to be done in a single sitting without loading a save.

So I've failed this achivement 4 times now because of bugs...I'm pretty much just done trying.

This last try I got all the way back to the checkpoint at Dresden, pulled up to the window, handed the guard in the booth my papers, then he said I had to pay a fine for reckless driving...okay, i've got 500 in my wallet, but he won't take the money...i'm not sure what's going on but I think i'm too far away from him to interact with him to pay the fine...which is silly because I was close enough to hand him the passport. So I'm stuck sitting in the car, can't turn it off, can't get out, can't do anything other than turns lights and wipers on and off, open and close the windows, and open and close the passenger door...I've been playing for 10 hours straight trying to get this achivement, and I'm denied again because of a bug at the very last thing that could have gotten in my way...I've never refunded a steam purchase in my life, but i'm seriously considering it with this game.

Bad luck, you met one of the rare famous bugs, which every now and then pops out. I know, I know, I myself have wrong some run, then I realized that was to be held last as an achievement to unlock, because in theory there is a trick to get it. I leave the link with the explanation.
However it is one of the most difficult achievements to get even because of the bugs.

I stopped trying after 6 different attempts. I noticed there was a patch the other day so I may reinstall the game and give it another try since my refund request was denied...

after 30 odd cracks at getting it before and being stopped by bugs it almost feels too easy.

So can anyone give any specifics about the chievo? Except exiting the game or to main menu are you allowed to restart an area or that voids the chievo as well. Would appreciate any help.

Exit to the game or to main menu or restart an area denies the achievement, the difficult lies in that and hoping for a lucky run without too invasive bugs.

Hence why I still haven't gotten it...I give it a try now and then, but I'm pretty much done at this point. Too many bugs in the game to reliably get this achievement done.

I suppose until i manage to max out the odometer i will achieve this one as well.
