Can't get in car Bug or working as intended?

So I've fitted the door to the car, I've put the engine etc in. I've fitted the wheels and uncle tells me he will sit in the car and let me get the essentials and place them in the trunk.

I place the crank, water oil and gasoline back in the trunk and open the door (bonnet and rear trunk are closed) and i can click the steering wheel but all that happens is the handbrake sound keeps going off and I'm not physically getting into the car.

I watched someone play the tutorial and he goes back inside to get a toolbox.
In my version there never is any toolbox that spawns inside the house though.

I've restarted the tutorial many times and i always end up in the same scenario, please help.
