If you brought Uncle with you and read his letters when you stop at a motel, you'd know why. It's the end of the story and all the Dev ever planned to do.

Asked myself TS' question. Thing is, in my game stupid Uncle stubbornly refuses to leave the car at the motel in Bulgaria (tried several times!), so the letter, which I supposed to read in Bulgaria (eulogy letter, I think), I could only read in Istanbul in the open suitcase left by Uncle in the car. So I could never read the final Turkey letter and I honestly do not know how the story ends and what am I supposed to do. Also I can't get the "Goodbye" achievement for that reason. Isn't there some workaround to get that old bastard out of the car at Bulgarian motel?

Save and quit then come back the other letter will be there

Yes, when you reached Turkey and read Uncle's letter in the motel, or the car.. no mather.. just head back to Berlin and try to complete achievments if you like the game enough to continue. :) I am in Day 137 right now, with more than 60 000 Km's and 9000 Marks. :) Have fun! ^^ (However I must warn you, there are sill a lot of game breaking bugs unfortunetly.. thats why it is hard to get the Head there and back achievement.) It was a miracle for me when I managed to get it. Right before Dresden my car stucked on a hill and I had to push it for about 5 minutes until I managed to make it free, didn't have to start over because of that.
