Why are the Hotel Prices different from game to game?
What is the consequence of robbing hotel guests?

the hotel prices rise, first they are 20, then 25, 30 ... i think the highest hotel rent I had to pay was 40 Mark.

regarding robbing the hotel guests: I'm still not really shure why they sometimes give you money. I didn't think of it as robbing the guests. I thought they're more like bribing me to leave them alone and not to disturb them. Or maybe they think I'm the housecleaner and don't want to be disturbed. whatever the case is I don't think there is a penalty for robbing the guests.

45 actually is the cap. On the way driving back home they all start costing 45 ( I think )

And there is no consiquences for taking the money when you knock on some doors, So might aswell do it when possible.

Lol "Bribing to leave them alone" sounds very similar :) "I'm not robbing them! I'm just using my knife to disturb them so they will bribe me to go away" ;)

About the price, it's not a linear rise is it? I think I've seen 20mk later in the game, or was that an old update?

In the beta version, the price goes up by 5 for each route you take away from home. And each route you drive back towards home, the price goes down by 5 each time.

You can get money from the guests in case you have no money to stay, the money you get will always be 5 more then it costs to stay the night.

Actually, I think the angry ones report you to the border guards, then they get more critical about you because you act like a pest. They will start to fine you for more stuff like the cleanliness of your car and how organized your trunk is, or so I'm told.

Really? It said in the patch notes that the more of an jerk you are the more the border guards are a jerk to you. Hmm. I guess I'll investigate myself. Not sure how it would show, but I'll try robbing a store with a dirty car. Sorry if I'm sounding arrogant or something like that, I just read off what I understand was the update.

I just started a new game and drove to Turkey. Knocked all doors and never cleaned my car. Didn't notice anything different at the borders. They checked my trunk twice.
