GTR - Steam version and add-ons
I have been a huge fan of GTR since it was released in 2005. It worked fine and had hundreds of add-ons made for it i.e. Tracks and mods with tons of different cars. However, when Windows XP became obselete, the game became unplayable due to the Star-Force protection which would work on XP, but would crash the game on subsequent operating systems.
I have just purchased GTR on Steam and have dusted off a DVD full of add-ons for the game, only to find that if I try and play any of the add-ons, in this case, the V8 Supercar mod by ORSM, the game crashes. Is there any way to get the add-ons/Mods to work with this version of GTR?

No, I haven't. It's a shame. There were some really good mods that were made for GTR.

Hi guys. I'm a member of the Independant Rebels Group (GTR2 Reborn Mod -check the 'nogrip racing site), and have the Steam version of GTR. I did have problems first getting the game to work, but found out it was a bad ATI driver that was stopping it from doing the Config file, it stilll pops up the 'not enough ram' error but i just click OK and it loads and runs fine.

Anyway. I have copied across my Locations folder (108 tracks), and also the 'Settings' folder (contains the original car setups) from my original -not steam- GTR install, and both the tracks and setups work without problems. I've seen that there are 2 new tracks in the Steam version (1.6.0.0).

I don't know what has been changed in the game from the original 1.5.0.0 to 1.6.0.0, but it may be possible that there 'may' be some contention with the differing versions. Graphical mods - such as carsets should pose no problems.

Has anyone noticed the GT2 Porsche now has horrendous steering vagueness and wandering at high speed?

Regards Barry
THX, gonna check that reborn mod

Any chance either of you guys with all the addons would zip them up and drop them on mega or another file hoster?
