For dungeon clearing, u only need to find 3 shops, green, purple and red, and kill enough enemies to remove 3 skulls from the teleporter in the boss room, not required to 100% the map unless ur relic says so
Buying too much Arcana. You want to spend the majority of your Gems on Relics. The more Relics you own the higher the "relic level" will be. You want to get access to the most powerful Relics by doing this as early as possible. Not only are there more powerful Relics, but there are some relics you can get early that dramatically increase the amount of Gems you earn.
Never buy Signature Arcana, in fact don't buy any Arcana other than Dash or Basic Arcana in the beginning. The reason I say this is because you can earn Signature Arcana and the Standard Arcana version of any Signature Arcana for FREE when you defeat bosses. Spending gems on Standards and Signatures is throwing Gems away. You have to grind a lot longer to buy Relics and Robes if you spend money this way.
Always save 20 gems from your last run, do not spend all your gems. Use those 20 gems to buy 200 gold for your next run. This gives you a head-start by allowing you to actually buy things on the first couple of floors... If you make sure to do this every time you will make it further and earn far more gems back for the investment.
You should stick to two Robes in the beginning, Avarice and Spirit, depending on what you are trying to do. Spirit is the best robe for learning because it helps you to break the bad habit of buying potions in the Trials. Avarice is good for grinding Gems.
Don't buy potions or Arcana in the Trials. Potions are a crutch and a waste of gold. Every potion you buy is less gold you have to spend on Relics, which makes you weaker. I'm not kidding, just ignore the potions. You will quickly realize that you do not need them, and when you do need them, the situation is already hopeless. Same thing for Arcana, don't buy Arcana, you will get Arcana for free, force yourself to use the free Arcana so that you don't get stuck only using your favorites.
Don't ignore NPC's in the Trial, The Cardist offers you TWO ENHANCED arcana if you give him one, take this deal whenever you can. I don't care if you like the Arcana you have, make the trade. Learn how to use Arcana you are not comfortable with. Most of the time you will be stronger for having two Enhanced Arcana from this trade, and it is a great way to experiment with Arcana without having to waste gems or gold on them.
Always take a Cursed Item, don't avoid them just because they have penalties. These items are so overpowered they have to have penalties to balance them out. Emphasis on the OVERPOWERED. Get comfortable with having cursed Relics, because you need them.
I don't know... there are a lot of little things like this you can do, and a lot of little pitfalls that will slow you down; if you're not doing well, stop doing what you are doing and try something different.

Not sure what you mean by that, could you elaborate? What level is increased and where did you find this being mentioned, etc?
Some relics can form a set producing a new relic while being consumed in the process. Such relics have the name of the set marked in their description. One of the pair is always a cursed relic and therefore has a malus; when you complete the set, you loose the malus while retaining the combined bonuses of the initial items (and usually getting additional ones, depending on the set in question).

Thank you for responding and to answer your question, it was mentioned in drae_perin's post in the first paragraph. It seems to be implying that if you own more relics there is an increase somehow?
I presume you're talking about these:
What this means is simply the way you buy out arcana/relics/outfits from the Lanova shops. They're being sold to a player starting from the cheapest items (apart from cloaks and signature arcana iirc), so that the more often you buy them, the faster you'll be offered new arcana or more powerful relics.
The Relics that are available to spawn from any source is controlled by a hidden "relic tier" that is based on how many relics you have in your collection. Only the relics you buy in town will be added to your collection.
When you own enough Tier 1 relics, Tier 2 Relics will start showing up. Buy enough Tier 2 Relics and Tier 3 Relics start dropping.
Arcana have the same Tier rules, but you can get Signature Arcana (and the Standard version of each Signature) from Council Boss fights. Just watch for the "Unlocked x Arcana" message when you pick one up. That's the difference that tells you that you own that Arcana now.
For the most part Relics do not grow stronger, though there are a few exceptions. For example the "artist" themed relics gain power based on how many Arcana you own; they will only reach full power when you have all of the Arcana for the Element that Relic is associated with. Another example would be the Cartographer's Quill, which gains power as you explore the map; this Quill also has a synergistic relationship with the Pathfinder's Map, which automatically grants the Quill the full bonus for "exploring" each floor as soon as you arrive.
There are two types of Relic that can be combined with other relics. First there are Collection / Bundle types; these Relics will automatically merge into a Relic that has all of the properties of the Relics that went into it (that run) and they only take up one Relic slot. The Painter's Tote Bag holds all of the "art" Relics. You can tell if you have a Collection / Bundle by the fraction indicator( 1/5 , 2/6 ). You can drop Bundled Relics if you don't remember what the Relics inside it do and pick them up one at a time to read their descriptions.
Second are the Fusion items. These relics will combine with the other listed relics to create new relics that usually have superior bonuses. They often require a cursed item, but the Fusion item nullifies the Curse, creating some truly absurd Relics. Fused items can't be un-fused, but they don't persist after the run ends.
1. By default, you have no i-frames, not even when you dash. Only special relics and spells give you I-frames when using them, so you need to make sure that if you get hit, you aren't hit by a bunch of mobs grouped up together like a team of normal shadows, or you will get stunlocked to death by constant attacks.
2. Crowd Control is King. Enemies have tough but exploitable movements and will usually just beeline directly to you in most cases (ranged enemies will naturally keep their distance). You can exploit this by running around them in wide circles to group them up so that when you hit them with your spells you hopefully hit more of them at once. The more enemies you can hit with every spell, the better off you are. Try and group them up at every opportunity. It also reduces the potential threat to you (Just, again, don't let any of them hit you once they're grouped up like that. Take the initiative and strike the moment you have them gathered). Of course make sure that you are using spells that can damage multiple enemies at once. Stone Shot would be a very bad spell for this, as an example, since each projectile vanishes after hitting an enemy, meaning it is a single-target spell.
3. Beware of the big guys. Heavy Shadows (the big muscly guys), Coffin Knights (the guys carrying the giant skull blocks), and Golems (The... golems...), are all immune to crowd control! If you wind up fighting a bunch of enemies you want to take care of them last. Try to avoid them while manipulating the rest. They are meant to thwart your attempts to crowd control large groups by powering through and interrupting you. Once they are alone, however, they are big, slow, dumb, and easy to deal with.
4. Synchronize your enemies. Enemies on the map often start out not grouped up immediately and if you approach them slowly, enemies at the front will attack sooner than enemies in the back of a group. You NEVER want this. You want all your enemies synchronized to attack you at the same time so that there is always a nice big opening between attacks. I often say there is nothing more terrifying in the game than two archers who know how to take turns. The best way to synchronize your enemies is to dash in at full speed so that all of them see and aggro you at roughly the same time.
These hints should help you a lot.
