To the question you put, it is worth to get this game! I was strongly hesitating because of the repetitive lvl design - squares, rooms, corridors... meh... but I did buy this game and duuude... It blows my mind! It's so addictive, even if there are only 3 levels themes (though more could be added). Get it :)
For example, only one of my wins has been with the electric vampire build, despite it's reputation as an easy win machine, and my own personal fondness for it. I spend many runs goofing off with subpar starting builds because I'm trying to luck out on a super ridiculous combo utilizing unique interactions between relics and spells.
One more consideration: If you've ever wanted to play a simulator for Avatar: The Last Airbender, this is the closest thing you're going to get. Monoelemental builds are difficult to make work, but they can be super fun. So far, I've only won with a Water only build, but I could probably make Lightning work.
