Parsec Lag Issues

I'm trying to play multiplayer with my friend using Parsec, and it works but my friend says it's super laggy on his end. It doesn't lag for me at all but he says it lags only actually in-game, not menus or anything. I've tried changing the resolution and checking both our internet connections, but nothing seems to improve it. Any suggestions or is it a lost cause?

There's a lot that can go wrong. Which of you two have the better internet connection? That person might want to be the one hosting it.

I would try with him as the host but sadly, his computer isn't on a proper windows update and he said that when he tries to update it, it doesn't work. But if he does manage to update it, I'll keep this in mind!

Sometimes I get this weird lag where it seems to skip every other frame and everything seems slow. I think its related to the frame rate getting out of sync with the monitor refresh rate. I solve it by dragging the window to my second screen and then back and then it works fine.
