Really Confused or Dumb

I am in the trials and I am earning gold and crystals, I go as far as I can and die. When I wake up in my room again my gold and crystals are reset back to what I had before I started my last run...why? How do I earn gold and crystals, am I trippin' son?

Your gold resetting is normal, though your crystals should carry over. Maby they did and you didnt realize, or you ran into a glitch.

I see, so you just keep exchanging crystals for gold if you need with that lady.

You use the gold to buy arcana and relics within the trials. The gem for gold exchange lady is for when you want a power boost within the trials, allowing you to buy one or 2 extra relics early on.

Chaos gems are kept after you win or lose. You can use those to permanently unlock arcana, relics, and robes after you return to town, allowing you to spice up how you wish to start a trial.

The stuff you buy INSIDE the trials with the gold, do they stay with you after you die?

Crystals are for buying unlocks in the lobby. Gold is for buying temporary boosts within the trials.

Gold resets, as it's a per-run currency, but crystals don't, as they're the permanent currency.

If you're spending your crystals on gold when you don't have all the outfits, relics, and arcana, you're throwing your crystals away.

No, only stuff you bought outside is permanent. Signature arcanas you get from the council members are permanent unlocks though.

yea, just finished playing a bit, makes sense now. sorry all! fun game. Wish I could utilize more of the spells at one time I spent all my initial crystals on :(. oh well.
