Do you go about buying whatever is infront of you using gems?

The end game goal is to have all the relics and spell anyway, so do you just buy whatever you can whenever you can, or do you save up until you know what the certain spell or relic does and get it only if you want it?

i pretty much spam my gems at evreything since i am already comfortable with what i have, getting 200 or so per run and just spending until i have none left, then repeating that until ill have evrey relic ( already got all the robes and arcanas, just left with relics now )

Yup i pretty much did the same : i begun by buying a relic, and some arcanas then farmed in then bought some more and finally when i got all i wanted to do my runs i just bought everything i could see.

You get around 200 gems in a near-complete run, but that barely seems to make a dent in the relic pools.
I've unlocked all robes(except Pride), I've unlocked almost all standard Arcana(there are still 4 left in each primary element, and the 8 chaos arcana), and if I remember right I still need around 18 of the relics.

Idk on steam but I'm surprised people on the internet haven't suggested a relic for gems.

On switch at least a certain relic guarantees Doki the Banker every floor. I complete a floor AND boss, enter red portal, and trade an entire floor's gold for around 30-36 gems. One run i got 99 gems in 2 floors.

However doing this solo without using gold on anything but trading for gems means you aren't going to complete a full run most likely. I just keep going in as far as i can as many times as i can.

I started this game a few months ago and rarely played. I'm new but recommend to get graduation cap for gems. Once you find the Doki the Banker relic (not the gold hand) switch to it; then farm gems and only use gold for gems till you have everything you want and are ready to go all the way

when im going to farm gems i just grab the Pig and do Boss rush. you can get something like 45(20 profit) at the half way point without the pig and like 100(75 profit) with the pig.

tend to farm up to a couple hundred gems then spam until I have 50, then do it again.

Spend all your gems as soon as possible. At some point it will become irrelevant and you will have 999 gems anyway regardless of what you do.

I reached this point early on so I don't think it matters to be honest.

It's also easy to farm gems with the piggy bank relic (forget the name of it).
