Dueling each other in co-op after boss is stupid
Been playing co-op and we literally dread every time we have to do this. Can we have the option to turn it off? What's the point? There is already a pvp mode - why are we forced to do this when we are speeding through the dungeons, it really slows us down.

I played this game with my brother and he is the type that gets really competitive and abusive...REALLY abusive.
So we absolutely N E V E R play PVP games ...I am serious we always fight "ironically we are both 25+ years old" but he really just loses his sh*t if I beat him.
And every time this game makes us 1v1 I just go afk and tell him " Just kill me fast " And several times he just " man just fight lets see who can win " and i just keep making excuses to not battle him.
So for me it would be a good thing to have it turned off, but i guess it doesn't really matter anymore since we beat the game and got 80% achievements in like 6 hours ...glad he paid for the game and not me tho lmao

It's just annoying to have to take the time to do it. I just want to go to the next level. There's literally no point and it wastes time

If it was worth enhancing of of the winner's spells or a full healing, it would make more sense.

It probably should have a time limit, with a sudden death afterwards.

i would not be opposed for the option to skip this for those that want it, but I absolutely think its the best part of co-op. i think its super fun and awesome.

My friend and I just discovered this last night, and we absolutely loved it. We're playing with very different loadouts, and I barely won with 18 health remaining.

It felt cool to pit our spells against each other, since we were both more challenging opponents to each other than anything else in game. We got better with our accuracy, dodging, and spell use, and we discovered some neat combos throughout the fight.

And the best part for us was just that it didn't have any impact on the run, and we could proceed like normal.

Sure, maybe adding some kind of "forfeit" would work, but I certainly don't think it needs to be removed. It sounds like the problem is the person you're playing with. I mean, your whole issue with it is trying to come up with excuses to not fight each other.

Right up until some jackass picks ice seekers [THE MOST OVERPOWERED PVP SPELL] religiously picks Shift as their starter and bum rushes the stygian shell if it ever shows up in the shop.

I'm just joking, thankfully my friend and I both know some things are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, kinda like when I get the spinning top or that fire berserk spell and win by just waterballing and then holding auto attack.

But yeah if you wanted to be a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, ice seekers would be the best spell for it. You can't avoid them at all and they set up allowing you to do anything you want as a follow up.

I don't have the problem, but I get what a couple of people including the OP are saying. Some people don't play pvp games for a reason. I think it would be nice to have an option for "pure co-op" for those who did want it, while not taking out the battle for those who do love it.

I think for that former group of people, the game being categorized as "Local Co-op" is kind of deceiving.

It's bad enough without the bugs, but when this happens...

1) It drains your gold if you have Armor of Greed equipped during the duel

2) It's game over if you kill each other simultaneously (which is possible, just happened to me)

/facepalm

(good thing it happened after the first boss and not the third)

Devs: just add an option to opt in-out of this, and fix the bugs.

Seems like a very important issue and devs don't give a single f.uсk.

This isn't early access, and I really don't think this is as big a deal as people in this thread try to make it seem. Aside from the actual bugs:

And even then, these are some specific edge cases. They should absolutely be addressed, but these aren't going to be common occurrences.
