How to you change your spell type???

I seem to be stuck using Fire spells, How do I change to start the dungeon with other spell types?

The book in the right side in your house, or the book that spawns after you purchase a spell in town.

That hasn't worked for me, it only lets me use fire spells.

You have to buy more with the chaos gems you get from inside the dungeon, or beat one of the Council members and they will give you a free one. There's a vendor in the town that sells the arcana.
