Noob Question(s) about finding enhanced arcana
As far as I can tell from about 10 runs in the dungeon so far, you get arcana TO KEEP through the town merchant or by some mechanic after beating an elemental boss.

My question is geared more for the latter if I have this right - In the dungeon, I bought two enchanced versions of arcana I already had equipped plus an arcana I found (I think?), and was only able to keep the one i found. Is this accurate? Right now I have an exclamation mark next to one of the fire arcana I bought an enchanced version for, but I've tried them all and it won't go away. Is there a seperate menu for enhanced arcana?

Sorry about the ambiguous rant, just not sure what I should be looking for!

That's odd, I've never seen the exclamation mark not go away.

What could be happening is you bought a spell that can be equipped as both standard and signature, like obsidian daggers (I think that name is correct). If I'm not wrong, I bought an enhanced copy of that and it seemed to be enhanced when equipped as signature, and regular when equipped as standard. If this is what's going on you'll have to equip and unequip it out of signature before you stick it in standard, as if it's already equipped, it won't be in your standard menu to select.

But to your other question, I'm pretty sure the way it works is all spells purchased on a run are for that run alone. The ones that drop from bosses however, you keep permanently in your arsenal.

You are confusing Enchanced with Signiture. All arcana can be enchanced (as in, a better version of it) and some can be Signiture. Bosses unlock signiture versions for you, you cannot start with enchanced versions.

^ Are you sure this is correct? When I have the obsidian daggers in signature, the enhanced text is lit up and they function as the enhanced text describes. When I equip them in standard, they do less damage and there are fewer, and the enhanced text is not lit up.

This is from one 75 gem spell purchase of the spell, with a colored border on the card.

Signiture versions are automatically the enchanced version as signitures cannot be enchanced.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I can also confirm the enchanced/non-enhanced difference of the same spell (in my case fireball) being equipped at the same time (signature is enchanced, regular spell is not). I got a much better idea of things now but I do have two quick questions based on one of the earlier answers.

Drops from bosses you can keep right? And i know you said this but I'm just clariftying it once more Fridge Lord - there's nothing else you can possibly keep during a dungeon run aside from elemental boss drops and those crystals? (even after kililng an elemental boss?)

And the big question 2 - how exactly DO you get enhanced versions then?

No problem. You do keep all drops from the main wizard bosses. I'm pretty sure those should automatically be the enhanced version, equippable as signature or standard. You should get a popup that says something like "You can now equip this from Tomi." And yes, all you keep is the boss drops and your chaos gems (unless someone's found a secret I haven't).

To get the enhanced versions of things, you either get a drop from a boss, or buy the righthand card at the plaza which should have a colored border and be 75 chaos gems.

I think the way it works is, you cannot buy or start a run with an enhanced version of a regular (non-signature) spell. The only way to equip those is to buy them as an upgrade during a run. I would think the shops have an increased drop % chance to upgrade spells you already own, because I often find those.

However, if you got an enhanced drop from a boss, or by buying the card, those spells should be equippable as signature spells. If you equip the signature, it will be the enhanced version of the spell. If you use that card in your standard slot, it will be the non-enhanced version upon equip.
