no save function??

I just played this for the first time. I got about 30 minutes in when I needed to pause, and when I came back I don't know what I pressed, but it sent me back to the title screen.

A save function would have been very useful, as I was enjoying this a lot, but I can't see myself going through those 30 minutes again. At least not for some time.
