Ownership verification with no help from ubisoft
Hi,

Have anyone else getting this resolved? I literally have 200+ hours clocked in this game, including previously with ubisoft connect. Decided to come back to the game after a few years for fun and... "cannot verify ownership".

Ubisoft help has been utterly useless. They asked for logs then disappear for a few days, and "oh case marked resolved and closes automatically in 4 days". It was not closed and they did absolutely nothing to help.

This is why my partner refuse to even start watchdog after buying it because it requires ubisoft connect....

So now I'm stuck with this and can't even launch the game....

All I can recommend is contact Steam Support to at least reclaim your lost games adding them to a new Ubisoft account. This late in the game, I doubt Ubisoft cares and that account no longer owns the games as they will have been transferred by changing the registered email account.

Ubisoft got hacked a couple of years ago and warned everyone to change their passwords. Guessing you missed that email notification to the email. You have a Steam receipt and Steam can delete the connection to give you your game back, but it will disable for whomever bought it using the key you had used.

Same issue, though I only have a few hours on the game and bought it recently, ubisoft still fails to recognise the fact that I own the game and now I can't play it, it simply doesn't launch. Two weeks after I contacted customer support because of it, (with screenshots from steam that I do own the game and have even played it before) I got an email "sorry for taking so long"and that was it.
I wish we could get game keys or cd keys for such cases from steam, then we wouldn't have to deal with ubisofts non existent customer service.
