Ingame random maps
First of all thank you for this update. It's something I was looking forward to since release so no complains here.

Just some feedback. The good thing is that the generation is significant faster then generating maps in the editor. But it is at the cost of too much diversity imho.

Are you going to upgrade these tools in the future? For example I would like to choose if the map is continent/island or plain. The amount of water and instead of selecting mixed terrain or just one terrain a combination of terrains you like yourself.

Also the game crashes for me when I click the preview map button. Not the preview map button in the generation screen (this one works) but in the next screen where you select the races. If I click on the preview map button on that screen game just stop functioning.

Last I would like to see some documentation or simple step by step guide for the editor to generate decent random maps. I miss some information for the moment. For example when you select new map after you select the settings etc the game ask you if you want to save a "package" file. No idea what it is and if I have tio click yes or no there.

Overall happy with the updates. Keep up the good work.

Another question I have if the new DLC is fully integrated in the editor already? So when I create a random map in the editor are all new units available?
Hi, we're aware of the preview sometimes crashing the game, this will be fixed in a later patch. Currently there are no plans to add GUI to fine-tune the generation. It IS planned, though, to adjust the balance of the way maps are generated, as we feel they are a bit too empty and bland at the moment, and also quite punishing at times due to a high concentration of rough terrain.

Just want to say that I'm very happy with the game. I was a huge fan of Heroes III which was one of my first PC games and kept me hooked to the genre over years.

When the first Unreal game was released the Unreal engine was delivered on CD ROM and I was experimenting a lot with it. It was the first easy to use 3D engine and it was real fun to make levels for Unreal. In that time I remember how I thought how cool it would be if someone created a Heroes game on the Unreal engine. Gameplay of Homm III with the graphics of Unreal.
And now so many years later this fantasy comes true because of your work.
Just want to say how much I appriciate that and I hope these words are more worth then the hundreds of complains towards Ubi and your team.
That's a really awesome story :D
At that time I also enjoyed Unreal and Unreal Tournament a fair bit, even competing a little bit in my local elementary school. At the time Heroes 3 was the bomb as well, and I can't say that I didn't get similar ideas... :D

At least to choose Island yes or no should be an improvement because water parts on the map always make them less stale. Maybe you can implement this? (When you mouseover options btw in the generation screen you can read the text Island map no so it is set to no standard but you can't change it to yes).

Btw I live in the Netherlands and the Ubisoft mail I got today with the Trial by Fire offer linked to the Polish website instead of the Dutch.

I have played Heroes since the second installment. I was hoping, when I paid 40$ for Trial by fire that I wouldn't have to keep playing Savage seas. It says there's a Island button in the generator but there's no choice there. Its maddening. Please direct me to this option. thanks!
