Wouldn't be opposed if character related dialogue was voiced more.
For example the UI is missing details that I want to see such as a display of each "camping" skill for each character instead of having to flip back and forth into menus to see that info. Can't sort the list by each individual's "camping skills" either, just some of them. Game doesn't actually show me the fatigue and hunger levels on the screen... when I look at fatigue it always shows up as if it's full even when it's not. If a character has 36 max it always shows 36/36.
Speaking of camping - one of the most annoying negative events you can get is when you "roll" the rodents in the rations event. You would think that after the first time the characters would learn not to leave the food anywhere that the rodents can get into it. It also says it takes HALF of your rations every time it comes up. So if you have 4 rations it takes 2, but if you have 100 rations it allegedly takes 50. Not sure it actually does that properly (seems bugged) because I got that event earlier tonight and I don't think it took half of what I had because I'm sure I didn't have 100+ rations and I ended up with over 60 after the "event" ended.
Sometimes choices are presented to the player when working on quests that aren't what I would choose to do, or simply aren't really choices at all. There's one quest in particular I encountered today that railroads you into one of two near-identical and not-so-great options if you did something specific earlier that removes a third "good" option for no logical reason. No idea why they didn't add at least ONE more option similar to the one that you can unknowingly remove from your list of options due to making the "right" choice earlier.
Fight enemies in a town or location on the map other than a camp? You get to loot them. Fight enemies at a camp site? Nope, no loot. Nada. Zero. Zilch. WHYYYY???
Speaking of loot... searching wolves you have killed can yield NOTHING. Um... they all have meat, fur, bone... why do I get absolutely NOTHING from some of them? Searching enemies that had shields, weapons, armour, helmets, etc. can also yield NOTHING at all. Yeah, maybe most of their stuff is damaged but it could be at least a couple bits of leather or scrap to make or fix things.
It's not a BAD game, but it could be a heck of a lot better.
Edit: Thought of some other things...
It feels like you need to take the deep sleeper ability for every character otherwise with a full team of 10 you're wasting 20 activity slots out of 40 on resting instead of just 10 slots. This means you have to rest more often to get things done and since you're on time limits saving a few 12 hour rest periods every week can make a huge difference.
It can take days to heal an injury by resting and using dozens of units of medicine but the healer in the starting town can heal every single character in the party regardless of the severity of their injuries all at once in "an hour or so..." and it costs zero resources...
The combat abilities aren't laid out in the same way across all characters. They should be automatically organised in a similar way, not strewn all over the place on each hotbar. Yeah, you can drag them around but an auto sort option would be nice. Combat setup is similar, the characters that are holding shields ought to be in the front by default, and the characters with bows in the back but they just end up wherever... it's a mess.
The finicky search "hand" is also a pain, sometimes it just won't come up unless you get the precise angle and pixel it wants. Currently unable to search a corpse because of where/how it landed... and since sometimes corpses have "unique" items, well... that's a problem.
During "surprise" rounds you can't toggle trap searching on so moving anywhere could be a mistake, you're better off slightly shuffling into a defensive position most of the time and just waiting. And, because the shield users aren't up front by default like they should be this can mean your archers/support characters are up front where they shouldn't be.
Meat lasts for days unless you rest, then as if by magic it spoils when you sleep. Nonsense game mechanics everywhere with this one, I tells ya... lol.
it's perfect
needs a sequel, same gameplay, upgraded everything else
no classes that ruin the builds
Or even a Expeditions: Greece would be nice.
I hope the next Expeditions game will take place in Greece. It would also fit an expedition narrative very well, if it's based on for example the Argonauts.
