Kill The Rats Quest Needs More Resolution Paths (SPOILERS)
So this quest in Ribe is severely breaking immersion for me.

A) I can be a major♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥bag and slaughter a bunch of kids
B) I can let the kids get slaughtered by some other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s somewhere down the line because nobody in Ribe cares about them
C) Apparently if you exiled all the people on the farm, you can give it to the kids and have them live there (I left the women on the farm to not be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥).

Here is my problem with this quest. So apparently I am the thegn of a town that has lost a bunch
of warriors (father's quest) and some more townsfolk from the raid by G-man the Peaceful. There are obviously empty houses somewhere in the town, so why can't I just put the children into those dwellings and call it a day? It just seems so strange that on one hand my main character is suppose to build up the town and create prosperity and power somewhere down the road, but I can't even house a group of ~10 children in the town. Like wut?

If you kill or exile erlingr and his family you can send the children there. There are no empty houses in the village itself.

I feel there was a lost opportunity here to integrate this quest into the town expansion.

A) Hulda needs a couple of apprentices after I take her's with me on my expedition
B) Nobody is living in Ketill's house as he is travelling with me
C) Torfinn looks like he could use a couple of extra helpers and why can't he build a couple of longhouses while he is at it (where are the merchants in the market sleeping anyways?)
D) Having the older kids train with the other kids near the training ring would have been awesome
E) I should have the option to have the women on the farm take care of the children if I let them stay as penitence for their part in the revolt.

My viking left on his quest to Northumbria thinking why those kids all had to slaughtered by the next group that gets hired for that job. The thegn of Ribe already said she doesn't give a rats ass about them, so I don't see a good resolution there.

A) Hulda is slowly going insane and she probably wouldn't remember who those kids are by tomorrow.
B) Ketil doesn't have a house, he lives with the hunter and his wife.
C) At no point does Torfinn complain about helpers. He also manages to build a longship, a feat he probably doesn't accomplish alone.
D) That still doesn't solve the problem of where they sleep, who feeds and clothes them and so on. Unless you propose they sleep IN the training ring. During winter.
E) This sortof makes sense, unless the women hate you too much for killing their husbands.

The first time I played, a villager was killed in the raid at the start. I offered their house to the kids, they accepted; I lost prestige. Next time, no free house, I killed them But that was because I hadn't realized the purpose of the mode switch in fighting - if you use the "Don't kill," you lose critical hits - not an issue with these kids - but you'll find they are rolling side to side after the fight, they are not dead. My style is definitely not to kill anything that moves but to avoid killing wherever possible; not always possible in Vikings.
