I sided with the Remus following woman (Iova?) and killed the legionnaires. The citizens were fine with me, it was just the armed legionnaires above and below that attacked.
I guess putting the wolf in a sleeper hold was what I was supposed to do. 10 wolves attacked my party and I didn't see that one of them had an actual name until it was too late.
Thanks. I would have figured the quest would have failed upon killing her but I received a green check in my log and further instruction to bring the dead wolf back to Fabian. I unfortunately saved over my pre-fight save thinking I was on the right track because of it.
