Fabian Quintus asked me to find Rhea Silvia which turned out to be a wolf. Fought the pack of wolves after they attacked me, collected the dead wolf (Rhea) and my next objective was to bring it back to Fabian. Pretty straight forward. When I approached Fabian to complete the quest he ran away from me and then bolted off the map altogether and the quest finished and it was marked as failed.

Didn't say why I failed and when I reloaded my save he ran away from me again. Anyone have any suggestions or insight?

She's their holy wolf, you need to capture her alive. Toggle lethal mode

Did you attack the refugees near the entrance to the wolf den?

Sounds like you've angered the cult, which makes the civilian members flee you (including Fabian). There's a couple different ways to turn them hostile, including what Nova asked about.

No, I saved them. They're sitting in the ruins with a green highlight around them.

I sided with the Remus following woman (Iova?) and killed the legionnaires. The citizens were fine with me, it was just the armed legionnaires above and below that attacked.

I guess putting the wolf in a sleeper hold was what I was supposed to do. 10 wolves attacked my party and I didn't see that one of them had an actual name until it was too late.

Thanks. I would have figured the quest would have failed upon killing her but I received a green check in my log and further instruction to bring the dead wolf back to Fabian. I unfortunately saved over my pre-fight save thinking I was on the right track because of it.

No you can still talk to Fabian if you bring the wolf back dead. I think Fabian is fleeing because you sided against Valerius.
