You could check out "Expeditions : Conquistador" - it's a great game too, set in the Carribean.

A very similair game series compared to the Expedition series Is Baldur's Gate. but it has real-time combat and the mechanics are more complicated.

Temple of Elemental Evil

I kind of want to reccomend Shadowrun: Dragonfall. It's also a turn-based roleplaying game, except instead of historical Vikings it's futuristic cyberpunk fantasy.

I literally lol'd. I clicked on this thread because I felt the same way. I have all of the games listed except The Storm Guard which is on my wishlist. Absolutely love Battle Brothers. More hours in that game than any other game; 560+. Love all of them, though.

XCOM 2
Battle Brothers
Battletech
Darkest Dungeon
Pillars of Eternity

Those are all the games I can attest to as being good strategy squad combat games. Sign on recruits, train them into something useful and then beat the odds. And while it's not exactly similar to Expeditions: Vikings I can also recommend Rimworld. It's more of a colony simulator but it has some elements of building up a squad of colonists to make a living in the wilderness.

Try Blackguards 2. Really difficult but the story, the heroine and the fights are really cool.

I perefer the first Blackguards. Much less npc characters running around.

There are next to no semi-historical Viking games, let alone CRPGs. You will find a fair ammount of modern CRPGs, that play like this game, but they won't have the history, or charcter of this game.

Questions like this can be pretty open ended. What do they mean? Do they mean a game with turn-based combat, a game with choices and multiple paths, a game with vikings, a game with a party system, a game where I can create my own character, etc.

There's literally thousands of games like this one going all the way back to the 80's, but questions like these should be more specific. Stuff like what exactly do you like about the game that you want to see in another.
