Banged in Britain
Just got to the british isles in the game after spending much time repeatedly healing my characters in camp mode due to several being fatally wounded, spent all my valuables on trying to heal everyone back to full health thus leaving me with no trade goods to improve weapons/armor or homestead (actually forgot homestead upgrades were an option till i left for britain) on arrival its become apparent that the enemies are much tougher and in some instances one shot me. Have i ruined my save by not upgrading homestead and equipment sooner or is there time for me to start now?

What difficulty are you playing on?

As a general tip, try to avoid getting knocked-out during combat, as that's the biggest source of injuries for your Hirdmen. Furthermore, if you have injuries among your Hirdmen, try to heal them up as soon as possible - untreated injuries will degrade over time, becoming worse. Not only that, but injuries also reduce stats which in turn means combat effectiveness is reduced.

As for your Homestead: if you've only started on it by the time you reached Britain, I am afraid you will not have time to fully upgrade it, which may mean you can't win the game as you need either +100 Prosperity or +100 Power to win in endgame. Perhaps you could do it if you completely focus on one of the two and ignore the other, as far as building your Homestead goes.

Thanks for that, i've opted to start a new game, i let injuries get the better of me and distract me from the homestead and the fact i may need better gear to stand a chance in britain, im only one easiest difficulty but in britain my characters were getting literally one shot KO'd so more injuries were unavoidable

Also, while you're in Denmark, Hulda can heal your injuries for free, when you find yourself back there.

That is not true, it only means the conquest ending and the prosperity ending will not be available. The endings where you maintain an alliance with either the Picts or the Northumbrians will still be achievable.

Oh wow, thanks for that, i wasted so much time/resources camping and healing trying to heal my wounded before Britain and as it happens they seemed to be healed to full when i left for britain too. Atleast i know for my current playthrough haha

It's not just Denmark, right? She's there in the Britain campaign as well, it just means you need to travel to your Homestead to do so. You have to do so anyway, for several quests. And if you're travelling by sea between Orkney and Perth or York, a small sidestep to your Homestead only takes a few days ingame time.

Oh and I stand corrected on the ending part, as Jonas is correct ;).
