Stats - how to edit them?
As I'm new to the 'series', - heard there was a game "Conquistadore" before, but it wasn't my time line setup - I wanted to know, about how to edit the game in any way.
As this the fact, that they're perma is in no way explained as I experienced it during the CC, I hope there's an irregular way to do so once, because noone likes to waste time in starting all over and scrapping hours of time.

- I read there is a console command to "add" stats, but I don't wanna actually cheat, so it would be great to get the "decrease" stats command also, if this way is to be chosen.
I simply wanna readjust wrongly placed initial attribute points after I recognised after hours of gameplay, that I won't be able to add points to primary stats like I am used to be able in familiar games like Age of Decademce.

- Also to edit a save file would work out for me, but I don't wanna break anything before asking about any "burdens".

Having a useless "hunter" now with 5|5|7|7|5 stats, which is kinda useless as I figured out over time. So after researching this I was a bit disappointed the character couldn't increase at any rare point, I'm here to ask for a solution that wouldn't force me to stick with a unexpected crappy attribute set or reboot it entirely.

Dear devs - as far as I can tell right now - I really love the detail in this game, but as for now I hope you can help me out with this, for my main character turned out to be quite useless. ~

Edit:
I was planning to start a second session in the middle future with another character's decisions, so it's not a "way" to minimalize game play time in general, but one to keep me wanting to do the second playthrough.

Don't be afraid, it looks more complicated than it is, basically the only thing you do during the guide is:

Backup your save > Open in Notepad++ > Decrypt its content on linked site > copy/paste decrypted content into opened Notepad++ > Look for and correct your stats > Save & Close

Thanks to dev Nova for linking this.

Allright, gonna try this.. hack? Thanks at all.

As this is an enormous complicated thing I'd advice to really put a big attention mark on CC screen the next patch for ppl that never played one of your titles before. Could save time and frustration for both sides. In most roleplay games there're no fix attributes like this, so you wouldn't expect it to be ;)
Yeah, I would've liked those annoying tutorial popups for character creator. I am new to the series as well (although after having spent a few hours with the game now I picked up the old one). One of the useful things to know going in would've been: Stats don't change. You never get smarter, or more perceptive. My first character was basically only average in all stats.

For an in-game change, I'm guessing that a save game editor will work. Thankfully I only lost an hour or three when I realized I needed to reroll.

Think I would've lost patience with my stats earlier, if I wouldn't have set them semi focussed on two attributes, that made it a half-playable character "until a stat level up".

So I was about 6 hours where I got a close combat archer. So yes, as I'm as well not like "after I was - unintentionally, yet - fooled devil-may-care". Please add this info in a bold typo to the tutorial to prevent unnecessary frustration sources.

Glad to hear you didn't lost that much time.

Edit: @Nova
Recently got into that "hack" you posted and it seemed to work. It saved me from being forced to restart the story, so thank you. Edited the initial posting to smoothen the scaring off border the hack text block could summon on some users.

Yes from the link https://steamcommunity.com/app/445190/discussions/0/1694917906658438386/
you can change alot of aspects of the game; just fair warning as it says in the instructions, back up your data before making changes. Trust me, I am the poster child for ruining a few of my saved games. But after you get the gist of editing, you can do all sorts of fun things like changing some of your hirds appearance and even color tones.

Just wanted to say thanks for this info. I bought game a couple of years back, and kept it for when i finnaly got the time for such a game. Story rich, turn based RPG's has alway been one of my favorite type of games. But as you point out most of them have ways to alter stats in the game to adapt to your playstyle. I also messed up my character build and locked me out of skills I was sure I could get access to later.
This guide saved me rerolling after 5-6 hours into the game. Thanks!

Could someone help me out, I cant seem to find the correct save file, there's a total of 12 files in the save folder, and none of them has the skill stats that I could change..

Edit:
Found and managed to change it.
All I had to do was open the save file located in MyGames/Expedition Vikings/Savegames it's the .sav file.

The mistake I made was that I opened a subfolder in the Savegames folder which is a wrong thing to do.
