does. not. work.
fix please.
dane axe is weak enough (compared to things like bows) that its penultimate skill should not be broken.
it simply doesn't work.
3 wolves, one in front of me, one to the left, one to the right, all right next to each other and me....
nada.
it for sure is broken.
have I mentioned it's broken?
pretty sure I did.
I mean, yeah, it's broken, but the repeated mentions were just for fun.
I agree they aren't the best weapons, but they have their niche.
Two shots, assuming you haven't moved, don't get demoralized, your targets aren't behind cover, your targets aren't using a shield or any of the other factors that affect accuracy...
You're also hoping you aren't at melee range where an opponent will get an AoO if you attack.
Don't get me wrong, bows are great. But they have their limitations as well. The line of sight can be a little finnicky in this game, particularly with elevation changes (seriously Vikings can't aim above eye level?), and, while you can't shoot through cover, you can hit characters through cover with the dane axe and spear. If you have bow users you pretty much need a dedicated character to babysit them every round either: curing them of status effects (There's Odin's Favor, but it only lasts three rounds), flushing targets out of cover, blocking targets that would engage them in melee, etc.
basically, the most powerful team you can put together, if the most boring, is 3 shield/axe up front, 3 bow in the back. shield issues are dealth with by the axes, bows mow everything else down.
cover is irrelevant, because it is SOOO easy to pull enemies out of cover.
of course, this is all an aside from the fact that none of this has to do with the swipe skill being broken, which is rather the topic of this thread. ;)
