What weapons and Armor have you crafted and how?

So I've been struggling through the game (Seriously does the game tell you that you can buy Thralls in Ribe cause if so I have completely missed that) and I've been strictly using the weapons and Armor that you can randomly pick up from enemies and such. But I've been wondering what you can craft at the Blacksmiths and wondering if any of it can get crazily OP for a laugh.
So I ask you what have you had the Blacksmith craft you?

Pro tip: use someone from your hird as a blacksmith, max out all 3 crafting skills for armor/weapon and from the start of the game you have access to the strongest weapons/shield and armor of the game (expect from ancient item and that depend you can get better bonus)

Don't use the blacksmith in towns, it's expensive and useless. Scraps is easy to find but hides are scares so buy them everytime you see some at merchants so you can get some 75%+ resistance for range damages.

You don`t have to have a blacksmith to craft. All you need is someone in your hird, with corresponding skills and A LOT of scrap metal and hides. After that, you have to give corresponding order to the character at camping planner. That`s all.

Currently equipped my frontline five with chainmail armor (maximum armor in game), viking-style helmets, and maximum possible weapons. BTW, high CON fighter, with top shield, have 100% block rate.

And don`t listen to the guy above. Later in game you HAVE to buy scrap, and even more so, hides. There is an interesting mechanics in game. To craft armor and helmets, you need hide. However, if you dismantle armor or helmet, you will receive... metal scrap! That could be used to forge weapons, but not armor. This way, hides are much more important, than armor.

Strange I've actually gotten more Hides then scrap so far in my game. There was a point early in the game I had somewhere around 15 hides and only 5 or 6 scrap. Later it was around 40 hides and 20-30 scrap, not sure what I have atm I haven't played in a few days.

Get yourself a merc with 5 repair and turn all the equipment you loot into scrap. You'll craft all the tier 5 weapons and shields before you leave Denmark. Then barter that scrap for furs and craft tier 5 armour for everyone. Nothing really to choose from. You'll have more than enough mats.

lol Already left Denmark. Just reached York last time I played. However I have been thinking of starting another character and run with cheats for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles through the Denmark part of the game. I only learned that you could buy Thralls in Ribe AFTER I left Denmark. *facedesk*

I looted EVERYTHING, made the game 10 times longer, not necessarily more interesting. I acually suggest to use cheats for resourses so you can enjoy the story without feeling the need (not everyone has it, but I do) to run aroun looting every barrel.

My only problem with cheats is that they disable acheivements, otherwise I will use cheats for some games just so I can enjoy the story without the grind and stress. But sometimes it's fun getting acheivements popping up when you least expect them. XD
