So, what are your character builds?
I've been having fun with duel-wielding daggers. Kind of a slow start and I often watched Ketill's damage longingly but late game with high mobility and up to 3 attacks in a round without that leadership ability that gives you another go? Yes please. Plus it just LOOKS cool, that swaggery "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!" animation. I also maxed diplomacy and leadership cuz it seemed appropriate, high levels are used sparingly but there's this one instance that automatically makes it worth it. Minimum strength and endurance, max sense, 8 perception and 9 finesse I haven't come across a dialogue prompt I couldn't pass. (unless it required strength but those generally coexist with other things)

Feel free to share your min-maxed builds here.

Sword and board, leader. I have dual wield as secondary. I've been trying to RP Ragnar Lothbrok from Vikings. Now I'm just hoping the devs fix the custom portraits.

The build I'm having the most fun with is my 'Freakishly strong Brawler Girl.' She's a high strength/endurance unarmed/throwing build with stone fists. On the small sized female for extra fun. She literally punches the heads off people. Scary and adorable.

I'm also playing with a Sword/Dagger Rogue with the social skills the above girl lacks. More of my usual swashbuckler type. And yeah the swagger is the best part.

Heh. You get to meet Ragnar in the game, towards the end. He's only a kid because the game is set in the 780-something, though.

Just finished the game (finally! ^_^ ):

Character:
Rune Ragnarsdottir (Queen of Northumbria and Pictland)

6 Strenght
10 Endurance
3 Finesse
4 Perception
6 Sense

Only ever played her with sword and shield (well, and throwing stones/axes) as a pure tank. Was a pretty fun game, seeing as she basically could just outlast everything the enemies were throwing at her.

Group:
Rune - tank (sword/shield)
Eydis - tank nr. 2 (axe/shield)
Asleifr - Dane axe user // tank nr. 3 (sword/shield)
Nefja - spear
Ketill - Bow (he's a monster)
Roskva - healing + standing around doing nothing, hoping to not get shot

You should put a spoiler tag on that...

You know at the very beginning of the game that you're going to meet the king eventually. Why would it be a surprise to know you'd also meet his son?

Even if it was, how would that affect your enjoyment of the game in any possible way? You've been surprised by it now instead of when you saw the words "Ragnar Sirgurdson" appear over a non-descript sprite identical to a hundred other kids' sprites you'll have already seen by that point. Whoop-de-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-doo.

You still (and by your own admission) spoiled it for people. How hard is it to put a tag on your post? Sheesh. Less time then it took you to write that diatribe. lol

When did I ever claim I refrained from doing it for lack of effort? I refrained from doing it because there's no reason to.

Dosn't mean that Ragnar Lothbrok would be seen in this game.
Yeah dude the game is ruined for you now because when you get to the end of it and you see a little kid with the words "Ragnar Sigurdson" over his head it won't be a complete and unexpected surprise.

I in no way said the game is ruined, but you did ruin the above mentioned surprise, yes. lol

I went with Knife/Shield/Scouting, and followed that with Leadership/Diplomacy. It's a suprisingly tanky build for a character with exactly one point of strength. I'm used to playing tanky main characters - My favorite class for Shepard in ME2 and 3 was Sentinel, I played a Sword/Shield warrior in Dragon Age, and so forth. Whatever else happens, the ability of your main character to stand in combat is essential. Watching enemies fail to outlast me is fun.
