I've been meaning to ask this since before release but I didn't want to deal with the inevitable "Ohemgee do you just have to get your gay everywhere" comments (to which the answer is: yes, btw) BUT.

I noticed I could flirt with Nefja as my female viking but she only ever gave me sisterly kisses. Now fraternal is not the kind of sisterly relationship I had in mind (hint: scissors) but it never developed any further and then Kettill showed up and I was like "Eh." Now, currently, my game bugged out on the last fight (-__-) and since I missed a few things anyway I figured I'd wait for a patch or 6 and replay the game later. So I read some reviews to see what people were thinking cuz I've really been enjoying the game and I noticed one of them said "You can romance your friend Ketill but not all in your hird approve of the homosexual romance" (paraphrashing). Whaaat? I mean it just being present wouldn't necessarily mean anything since the game could just be forgetting to check your gender flags or something but the dissapproval to me implies that it's intended? Is the reviewer just misreading the "You think no one noticed but the knowing smirks/disapproving looks say otherwise" comment (paraphrasing)?

So anyway, can I be a big hairy gay viking in my next game?

There is literally no action you can take in this game that someone in your hird won't disapprove of. Romance or otherwise. So I wouldn't worry too much about what the pot thinks about your Ketill.

So pick your large body type and your stubble complexion and get raiding :P

Both Kettil and Roskva are Hero-sexual. You can romance them on either gender.

There is no 'gay only' romance if thats what you're asking. But your hero can be gay and romance Kettil yes. And I think the devs did say the romance dialogue does account for gender.

Nevermind! Saw a dev comment in another thread. Swamp witch and Ketill are bisexual and Asslife and Nefja are straight.

I now want a playthrough where I sleep with all of the things.

No, the answer to that question is a solid "no". You absolutely do not have to include gay character in every single media. They are not the norm, neither they are any kind of majority or otherwise group that has to be acknowledged by every one else on the planet. They exist and that's about it. They do not deserve any speacial status and no one has to do anything for them, including representation in every source that can be used for that.

Luckily, that's not what I said. I'd suggest comprehension classes but we both know that'd be a bit of a waste huh?

Indeed, I believe that if you write something like "Ohemgee do you just have to get your gay everywhere" as an example and then clarify in parentheses that “(to which the answer is: yes, btw)” – translation: “yes you have to”, I'd also suggest for you to visit those, since apparently, your comprehension of the English language is somewhat lacking. But as you said, it would probably be a waste of time.
