Bow hits as hard as dane-axe...what?
This is around Ad 760..... Norse and British bows are designed for hunting rather than war....
While I agree that bows should be good at killing people without shield and armor.... Ketill hits as hard as my dane axe hero with 10 strength across the map is ridiculous. We both using tier 3 weapons and level 5 weapon skill if you wonder it's about the stats....
With 10 strenth level 5 weapon skill and a tier 3 dane axe probably means I can chop people in half. Bow can do the same or even better damage? It is not bow it's hotdamn sniper rifle

Yeah, archers are so utterly overpowered in this game that it's hard to take any combat seriously. Any fight were you get the first turn ends immediately as your archers knock off half or more of the enemy force on their own.

Game stuff. despite arrow hits on the chest where armor is at, lvl 5 bow skill for devs prolly means he hits enemy's eyeball everytime. Also graphic wise, the bows they use in tier 3 wep is enough to do that damage. issue would be Dane axe lacking its power to just gut a guy up to spine.

idk why devs would think person can hit eyeball every time in middle of heated combat.

This is theoretically counter-balanced by shields offering total arrow protection with enemies frequently spamming demoralize. On the player's end the slingshot skill is a godsend for safely advancing into kill-zones.

But yes with the higher base accuracy along with the faster progression (compared to Hunter in Expeditions:Conquistador, which many thought were underpowered. I liked using them mid game on --) Quick Shot in particular is probably a bit too much ATM.

quick shot needs dmg reduction of 30% as well as accuracy. Aim is one thing but keeping arrow fly straight to maintain your aim is bout same as your arrow hitting hard.
Demoralize would be a fine counter to Archers if not for two things:

1) You get the first turn in battle a good 90% of the time
2) At maxed bow level, Aimed Shot essentially negates the Demoralize penalty.

Archers just need a straight up damage nerf or a tweak in mechanics to bring them in line with other characters; it's just ridiculous how powerful they are.

looking at how sword is balanced, aimed shot should be 2 turn thing. How do you aim so well in such short time?
The optimal battle party is just straight up 3 shield dudes with Leadership and 3 archers. Your shield dudes act as general support to heal, buff, block, and force enemies out of cover, and your archers just demolish everything.
