Thralls - How do you gain them?
Is there a particular way in which you gain thralls, or do they just become available through scripted quests, etc?

Cheers. :)

Either through certain quests or through trading.

Explore the world and you will find some situations where you can get thralls or let them be free (not sure what do we gain by letting them go tho)

It would have been nice if after a fight with some enemies still alive (incapitated) there would be the option to make them your thralls.

Thank you. :)
Will have to see when I start raiding Britain whether I can capture a few, a priest even for my hird. (You would have to have watched 'Vikings' to get that)

Yeah that's what i was expecting!
Non-Lethal would've ofc had a large part in the story, but stating that you would Never be able to finish upgrading the entire homestead for the deadline, really makes it seem like you Should be able to take incapasitated people as you Thralls/slaves.
or another idea (which i imagine is too late now considering the game is out and all but idk ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about game developing and how it works...yet)
is that you would be able to turn incapasitated people into slaves, bring them back to your homestead and give them menial labors to do, like building, going hunting for meat to make rations, go herb hunting, gather salvage and stuff like that, not just...speeding up the building time, and you LOSE the thralls once the building is done? what the hell is up with that? what, do they all die during the construction?
"welp the fence for the animal pen is finished, but your thrall tripped on a pinecone and broke his neck and spine in 12 different locations...whoops"
Logics!
(kinda got a bit off topic there lawlz)

A clear conscience (and usually increased morale for Gunnarr if he's around).

So, basically nothing - lol . by late game morale is never an issue (and even if it is a negative it doesn't really have any noticable effect on game play . ) . as to a clear conscience -haha. You are attempting to become a power in Europe -if how you treat a few thralls will bother you -you(and your tribe ) are doomed .

Speak for yourself, man, maybe I just want to make some British friends and kick Skule's ass ;)

Perhaps ,but you need to be a power in Europe for that to happen - Perhaps not a very big power ,but still . And being nice to Thralls doesn't help with making British friends .

I still think that Skule is only doing what the player is ,but on a bogger scale . Skule is worried about the future of the region against the Franks and the player is only worried about his little bit of Appalachia (sorry ,Denmark)

Is there any advantage whatsoever to fighting non-lethal battles? I was hoping I'd be able to make them my Thralls since I incapacitated them. In Viking history, people were either executed, sacrified to the Gods, forced to swear fealty where they'd serve as warriors under the Theign's command, or were imprisoned as Thralls and forced to perform manual labor.

What's the point in leaving a bunch of incapacitated enemy warriors on the ground?

Some of the story events will change depending if you beat people lethal or non-lethal way. Or some of the quests require it. This means you have to toggle lethal fighting off via tooltip.
First example is in the forest near your home, you meet those escaped thralls. Beat them non-lethal way and they are yours.
