AFAIK yes you can. Recite the prayer correctly in Aethelred Bishop's quest, cleanse the "evil cult" properly, and also Brother Moreven is in your party exactly with only goal to convert you and you crew to Christianity. Not sure about converting your whole clan trough, but since there are 2 Christian kingdoms routes, it very probably may be the case.

That is more of a fake-out though, you're not actually converting - you're just pretending you have.

Real conversation does happen in one of the endgame cinematics, depending on the state of your game when you finish it.

Can i have more info on that?
I think it's pretty obvious the devs aren't fond of Christians, in both games there have been 0 bonuses to being Christian or having Christians while pagans have (especially in conquistador) ridiculous bonuses in addition to (not sure in vikings but certain in conquistador) their literal gods showing up and messing around with ♥♥♥♥.

That is asuming a lot.

I would prefer the option to convert simply to justify a diplomatic playthrough. I tried doing it on my character and half of the characters just insult you or refuse to work with you for being a heathen. Started over to burn and pillage because it feels like that's what the game wants you to do. People in churches literally just tell you to get out if you try to be peaceful.

I agree, the anti-christianity bias is strong in this game. I think underdevelopment of Moreven character is to blame. I recruited him to be my guide in the Christian world, but he is silent ALL the time i interact with various bishops. He even don't lose morale when you ransack a church or two. Ridiculous. Also he said that he needed to visit the Churches in Perth and Eodworth, i took him there, but he showed abnsolutely zero reaction on that.

The worst one was the bishop saying he doesn't even care if you're not a Christian after you convince him. What was the point of convincing him in the first place?

You should be forced to choose between faiths and have access to companions like either Gunnarr or Moreven based on your choice. Alternatively you have to toe a very treacherous middle-ground like Ragnarr does in Vikings with Athelstan.

I agree with you that this will be good, except the point about Gunnar. I don't think Gunnar would be so much against converting to Christianity. To him, it is not important what to plunder - a Pagan shrine or a Christian church. The keyword is "plunder".

Asfriddr - he is the one who will be the most upset about converting to Christianity, IMO.

Honestly, though, as I christian myself, I can say the Churches of this age, especially the catholic denomination of the time were the most ruthless, genocidal conquest bringers of all.

Consider this, Protestantism and Catholicism are extremely different animals. The God may have the same name, but their persona, personality, how you speak and relate, all different. The Catholics of this age were haughty, arrogant, and much like the pharisees spoken of in the bible who drove people away from the love of Christ.

To a Viking the difference would be one would open their doors, help the people around them, while the other would be glorified taxmen to the pope's army and sit on a fortune in their church while the town around them burned.

The greatest goods and evils both can be done in the name of God.

The catholic church of this age was not the same as it is today. It had a private military, it hunted and purged heresy with a blade. It took and ignored the word of the bible, and forbade its congregation from reading the word, only allowing verses to be spoken by their priests. Why? Because the bible clearly spoke many messages against the crusades, against the purging. The New Testament held verse after verse about mercy and coexistence, chapter after chapter about spreading the word or moving on in peace if it wasn't received.

They did in the name of Jesus, the very things Jesus despised the most. And while the Catholics of today have been made more tame with the reading and the actual sharing of the actual word. They possess a dark history from being an ancient political and military blot upon the faith.

The God of Catholicism is apathetic, doesn't care, Jesus intercedes for us, but you go through Mary, his mother a human. Otherwise Jesus isn't prone to care either. Jesus was remade in the image of Constantine.

TL;DR: The depiction of Christians in this game saddens me, but it is historically accurate as far as I can tell.

feel the same (as a christian as well) and this game indeed bring me a lot of struggle about that age. However they put a fancy picture about druid belief. Druid belief could be quite cruel and superstitious, just as other ancient believes . And Roman's conquer, although was cruel as well, still brought advanced technologies and education. In the medieval age most of the time it was worse than the time of Roman Empire.

This view bias remind me about a map in Mount&Blade, Brytenwalda. In that map the view about vikings and druids is almost the opposite from this game (and I think people who made that map did a lot of research and provide quite solid history background knowledge). To compare these views itself is quite interesting, although this game indeed brings quite some struggles
