well, one time i was kind of stranded in a city in a sense that i could not get to a camp site before "going hungry" so in my opinion something like a mead hall in a city like ribe could make sense, to have some forrest have that option on the other hand makes less sense
also maybe a little window on the map screen which tells you what day it is and how many hours are left would be awesome, the little timeline thing is tedious to read
great job on the game overall! i am loving it!
If bored you may cook, craft, scout and etc.
You don't need to wash anything though, it's vikings man!
Wait, once per day? I haven't eaten in 5 days. Does this mean I have to camp every day then? Something doesn't seem right.
The result: three full rests in a row, and my main character still has severe stat penalties.
P.S.: I agree with many other who have posted here, saying it should be possible to eat in a town or anywhere if the party has rations. And I would like to add it should be possible to gather wood by assigning people in the village to this task rather than gathering wood while camping (who is carrying it anyhow?) This is by far the strangest/most unintuitive food/resource management system I've ever encountered in a PC game.
Thanks for replying.
I just noticed that there is a *setting* to make the character eat. But may I inquire as to why there is such a setting at all? I mean, if a character is hungry, he/she should be smart enough to eat. Making this an action that needs to be specifically activated is quite a nuissance, really.
There are many more game mechanics that I think are in dire need of streamlining (cover!...), but since this thread is about food, I won't get into this discussion here.
While true, if you're short on food you might preserve it for specific characters, even if you still have some. I can understand that you can change the setting.
What might help, though, is if you get a prompt when not everyone has something assigned to eat, while there's still food in store.
Yes, precisely - the game, while trying to give you new experiences and new micromanagement tasks (I'm not the biggest fan of miscromanagement) - is very stingy when it comes to providing warnings and information.
I find the whole camping business tedious to manage.
And I still don't understand how the adventurers manage to haul major amounts of timber across the countryside... ;-)
