Boat material.

So what materials are people using for their boat? Also are they intending to be traders or raiders?

im using ash, seemed like the best of both worlds

I chose larch (I think it is called) it had medium speed and intimidation but low cargo. I thought that would be better for a raider playthrough.

I think it was pine. The fastest ship thing with low intimidation and cargo. I was looking for a "commerce raider" to get in and out fast thing with options for a friendly chat with random traders over the differene of value between their cargo and their lives but ... I am not sure this is actually implemented in the game :(

also went with larch for the reasons you did. not far enough in to know if that was a good choice yet.

Larch or Oak seem like the best for raiders.

Have yet to decide, having a hard time deciding what to choose as it's difficult to know how the material affects the gameplay

I picked medium, medium, low. Low is intimidation.
Also before I set sails I made sure one of my crewmembers has repair maxed. Just as I expected, I needed to repair the ship during my first sail to Britain!
